Sneak Archer tip. Hope it helps. :)

Hey all, well I found a little thing that I like to take advantage of, I been using this for the past couple days and it has never failed. :D

Basically, imagine you are in a cave/dungeon/killing ground of your choice, and you are trying to get a sneak archer kill, but wait, there is a little wall/cupboard/whatever you are using as cover, and when you shoot your arrow just pings off the aforementioned cover. Try this to get around it, simply stand up, line up your shot, let it fly then immediately crouch again, as long as you are in sneak position before the arrow hits your enemy it will count as a sneak shot. :D

Sorry if this is already well known, never seen anyone mention it before. :)

Thats cool, I didnt know that. I always thought you have to be crouched the entire time for it to count as a sneak attack.

That is good to know.

This makes me wonder...There was a sneak attack trick in Oblivion. If you shot the bow and quickly switched to your melee weapon, you would get the extra bonus from the melee weapon. That would mean x6 for 1H and x15 for daggers. I wonder if that same mechanic applies to Skyrim?

You have never heard the cat expression "meow"? It is usually implied as a sign of approval to a visual or comment by someone.

Erm, didn't try it but I definitely will give it a go later. :)

As long as you equipped the melee weapon before the arrow hit the target, it would apply the melee sneak attack bonus. If the sneak attack bonus applies when crouching, much the same way...it's quite possible.

Just throwing that out there. I am unable to test this right meow, but I am interested to see what one may find out.

Tried it out a number of times, even when I have my dagger out it still reads 2.0x bonus. Also ran into a funny little bug, if you get an archery killcam and quickly switch to a dagger (probably any weapon will do this too) the arrow vanishes, and the killcam just stares at your character for a moment then it goes back into normal play and everything is at is was before you initiated the killcam, I got this against a wolf, I was hidden and the eye indicator didn't even move, so I am 100% sure the arrow vanishes in flight in this circumstances.

Thankyou  ! x

But it's also considered a spam post by the mods who will very likely ban you if you keep using it. It's like posting "I agree" (which will also get you a ban).
