I have to agree.... but NOTHING could replace the ability to touch-type. When I'm writing, I can crank out thousands of words in just a few hours. If I couldn't touch-type.... well, I'd probably have to get some sort of voice-rec program, bad as they are....
This is very true, though fortunately I learned touch-typing on an IBM Selectric... those things were amazing! Loved the feel of the key and that instantaneous whack of that weird type-ball. In fact, I have an IBM keyboard on my home PC. No other keyboard has that unique sensation. I've tried Logitech and others, but they are all squishy, vague, wobbly and imprecise. I had a Lexmark keyboard that somehow I damaged... should've repaired it. I understand there's a company that bought all the production tooling to the IBM legacy keyboards.
Back on topic: I've been in the War Quarters twice and never tumbled to the seven dwarfs reference. I should've realized we're through the looking-glass, people, and not in Kansas anymore.
