They know that PC is by far superior...
They know PC will bounce back...

Yes,i'm not 5 years old,i know they all do it for the money but someone doesn't start like this.
You're starting this cause you love what you do,that means that you have an ethical code of not sacrificing everything in the God of money and blood.

BUT this basically translates to me like this : "From now on whatever we design will be half good for the PC but fully factional & bug free for the consoles".
So as a PC costumer why oh my oh why should i even ever bother buy anything this company makes for the PC?

And you think that the healthy and reasonable PC community, when all this turns around, will accept them back when they'll decide again that PC has a bigger audience?
It's a shame for such a company, with all this great past...to remain past.
So long.

So you do realize this isn't Greece, and companies here have to remain solvent to exist right? John and most of the iD founders could have retired by now I'm sure.
You are not familiar with ids story, where its roots is a bunch of software developers making games after business hours because they loved them. But it is money that makes this happen. Pure and simple. There must be money for a company to survive, and each project is a major risk. You have to play the odds to survive here.

Support it and they will pay more attention to it. So many people feel so entitled. They could have done better that is for sure but other than some bad release day blues mostly because of bad drivers and PC users with mediocre rigs getting a crappier experience than consoles...the savvy PC user can easily getting RAGE humming along really well. It's always been like this and that's part if the appeal of having a PC. Those who QQ about it all day, either support it best you can or see it die. You have valid points but let's not go off the deep end! RAGE is Awesome on the PC, my graphics at 1920x1200 at 60 hz 8X AA and 8k texture pages look way better than on console. Relax, upgrade I'd u need to and enjoy!

Please do not attribute fake quotes to people.

The driver issue is a mess, and I've held off installing RAGE because of it (which svcks). I understand that you're frustrated but you shouldn't make up fake quotes like that, even if you feel that you are paraphrasing.

The only thing ID should have really done for this game is state in the PC System requirements that you need at least 6 cores on your CPU or a Nvidia GPU with the extra CUDA cores. Those people don't seem to be having problems.

Perhaps then people wouldn't be so irate. Its an OpenGL game. ATI has never really kept up it support for OpenGL and it is really showing its colors now with this game.

I'm on a lowly quadcore until bulldozer comes out, but Rage is running great on my current cpu.

So this site http://kotaku.com/5847761/why-was-the-pc-launch-of-rage-such-a-cluster is posting a false interview?

Is this "We knew that all older AMD drivers, and some Nvidia drivers would have problems with the game.." Mr.Carmack said or not?Cause if it's not i take back my... rage.
I'd need a verification then,is these statments valid or not?
If not why this site is posting them as such?

I am on a dual core, and it ran terrible until I figured out what the whole "GPU transcode" was. Enabling that allowed my big and beefy 570GTX to take over a lot of the texture streaming. Now it runs perfectly smooth at high frame rates with no texture popping problems.

My only complaint would have been no way to enable vsync in the game. Still I was able to enable it through Steam, and have no tearing either now.

Yeah I'd say you're bottlenecked at the cpu for sure. Transcoding is pretty sweet, I didnt know anything about it until Rage.

I was referring to the supposed quote you put this thread's subject line, which I edited. I apologize, I should have specific when I posted my comment.
