Some light help?

Post » Mon Aug 01, 2011 10:17 am

So, I've played all of the builds. Medium, heavy and recently light. I'm level 20 but I'm still having trouble adjusting and winning fire fights against medium-heavy players. I use a Balpudan/Galatic/Tampa. What tactics do you use to win fire fights? I'm operative/medic if that helps. I want to be successful with this build like I have been with others.

I shoot them from behind. :D
Remember that Light's are faster, keep moving and don't really ever go for a straight up firefight.

With the Galactic/Tampa spray and strafe up close, and the Bulpaun try for headshots, it'll drop them faster and give you a better fighting chance.

Wallhopping is a savior when it comes to heavies. I'm a heavy, and can almost never hit a light that runs around and behind me. Just don't be afraid to go straight for a sprinting heavy with a minigun. They're easy prey until they get that thing spinning.

Chinzor and Maximus using heavies are a different story, though. Just try and stick to either the Bulpdaun or the Tampa and you should be good. Tampa actually seems a bit better, and the Bulpdaun wasn't even touched in the patch.

On my lights I use either the Buldapaun or the Kross SMG and then the Ritchie Revolver for my sidearm. Ive found that silent running made a big difference for my light's ability to sneak up on enemies.
Your best bet is to flank your enemies, if you can get close to them Slide tackle them then finish em off. If you get trapped into a head on head fight try and strafe in and out of cover firing very quick bursts at their upper chest. If at all possible circle around them and take them out from behind.

I really like hitting them once with my Ritchie, slide tackling then either finishing off with a knife strike or another revolver shot.
Id recommend rolling light soldier. Theyre very deadly, be sure to make full use of your flashbangs / mollys and the upgraded nades.

Remember that youve got less health than the other builds, so dont just run out in the open in front of multiple enemies, without blinding them first. I like to throw flashbangs then run out with a cooked nade, then a molly and take out as many as I can before running back into cover. Then I let my cooldowns refill while I come at them from a different direction. Dont be predictable, and dont get trapped in narrow hallways that dont let you out maneuver your opponents.

Cheers

remember: keep moving. your biggest asset as a light is your speed and manuverability. dodge, strafe, and attack from unexpected angles. your primary weapons have plenty of reserve ammo, so make use of it. and keep in mind, no one expects a knife in the back.

Your an Operative/Medic Like Me :foodndrink:

Bulpdaun:
Front Grip
Muzzle Break
Extended Mags

Carb-9
Front Grip
Muzzle Break
Extended Mags

Tampa
Front Grip
Muzzle Break
Extended Mags

Only SMG's you need.
Play Operative for
Defense: any hack/explosive objective. Using EMP Grenade on these, slow down objective play for offense.
Offense: any Hack Objective

Play Medic for
Any objective you don't play operative on

Lights are great at hipfire, drop your ADS for hipfire for a while and you'll start to catch on to whether ads or hipfire is better for each situation.

As a Medic you can revive teamates during reload. Do not shoot while reviving teamates or it will cancel it.

Also, practice across the map Larz's. You can revive people through walls with this as it exploads on first contact. Learning how far away you can trow it to revive people is usefull as well. Every second counts
