Taking plants, (seems like a good way of making money) and windy areas. Unfortunately, no rain. :(

Nothing too new. Interesting read nonetheless. Though, I wish some of the iterviers would ask about the skills and their effects as all these questions have been asked before with different wording.

Sounds good. I like the thing about the companions. That makes a lot of sense. Like in FO3, Charon hated evil people yet he wouldn't do anything to you unless you fired him I think.

Good find, thanks for posting this. It's good to see that our actions actually have more of an effect on NPCs, and it seems like things can happen in the Mojave without the player's interference, such as the Legion taking over an NCR outpost.

This is kinda neat: "And also every companion gives you a Perk and you'll only have the Perk when they're with you". I haven't seen that before. Thanks for posting this.

I love how we can wear disguises now, that was suggested by loads of people here(including myself) a long time ago. Also he made a valid point about sleeping in an owned bed, that always pissed me off aswell.

Edit-Brain Fart.

What was said about sleeping in an owned bed?

AG: Now it's probably too late (in development), but one of my biggest gripes of all with Fallout 3 was that you couldn't sleep in an owned bed. You can steal anything from the house and even kill the bed's owner, and still not be able to sleep in it - it looks like you guys haven't fixed that in this build anyway...

Its just below the picture of the companion wheel.

It's no secret I'm a massive fan of Fallout, having logged more than 150 hours into Fallout 3

so we now have confirmation on harvestable respawning plants? Now I can run around and collect things just like I did in Oblivion :D
Love the idea of disguises, loved them in the shivering isles.
Companion perks and consequences= epic. No more fawkes with a very evil character.

Yes. Massive.

Exactly what I was thinking. :P 150 hours is nothing compared to many people on this very forum.

Kinda reminds me of this other game journalist -- ''You all know I'm a huge Fallout fan; I have every achievement in Fallout 3!''

yea thats funny, because to most people being a huge fan means you have 20 or so hours into the game (Mainly caused by most games only lasting for about 6-20 hours nowadays.) or you went and got the achievements. Try 1000+ hours and then come back to me and talk about being a massive fan.
Also i have no room to talk, as F3 is the only fallout game ive played, as I hate turn based skyview games.

No?

EDIT: OH! There was one quest where you dressed up as heretics to infiltrate their base.

vvvvvv Forgot about that :D

the zealots/heretics/apostles robes. wearingthem would add you to their factions, until you got to close.

Yep, it was a great mechanic. But it seems in New Vegas, we can go up to and talk with any old grunt as if we're a fully fledged member of their faction. Though, officers and dogs can call your bluff, so to speak. Good stuff, Obsidian. :goodwork:

What's better is when they say they're huge fans of Fallout and it turns out that Fallout 3 is the only game they've played.

As for the article, it's pretty cool- not anything new* but it mentions some stuff that's actually interesting and new.**

*no info we haven't seen before
**that wasn't in Fallout 3

I can't wait for Boone. And just the companion interactions in general. It will really inspire me to travel with all of them, instead of pretty much ignoring some of the ones available (I ignored Jericho, Cross, and the robot).
This was a pretty good interview. Good to hear about the optimization.

"So there were a lot of things we just optimised as far as performance goes"

Part of the first response.
