So i have been hearing that you can find wild were wolves at night way up north of skyrim. I dont know if these people are trolling or what. the only ones i know about are either companion or quest related...has anyone seen these up north? i haven't looked yet just found out and was hoping maybe someone new more about it.....i really hope there are but im not holding my breath.
I have run into one outside of Riften at night time while in the wilderness, completely random encounter (in fact it was a random script). I killed it in two swings, so needless to say I was sorta disappointed. In over 300+ hours of gameplay thats the only werewolf I have ever encountered in the wild. So, technically it is possible however its very rare and is almost impossible to happen for anyone who uses fast travel since you miss out on random encounters.
You can supposedly find Sinding wandering around sometimes after his associated quest if you spare him.
If there are any others in the wild, then I'd assume they're a very low chance random spawn, probably only occurring after you progress enough in the Companions quest line. However I can't say I've seen any myself, and I'm in my mid-30s.
You cannot get infected by them regardless, though.
Considering one can only wolf out for a 180 seconds, it is doubtful you would run into any tromping around the wilderness. Just speaking from logic, not game mechanics.
Oddly, I bumped into him around Whiterun way after killing him... He was a werewolf and none of the guards tried to kill him.
I saw back on Falkreath after, seemingly performing his regular day to day. Except he was a fully transformed werewolf and no one seemed to notice but me. Funny glitch, I was thinking, "Wtf Siding, you told me you were gonna stay away from people and towns from now on!"
