Something I Noticed When Conversing With Ysolda

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:13 am

This is my first posting so please be kind lol. Anyway, has anyone ever noticed that whenever you talk to Ysolda about the Sleeping Tree Sap, she tells you about how the tree came to be there? She says that supposedly a seed fell out of the sky from a floating city. Well that stuck out to me because I remembered seeing a book at the bookstore that was set in the Elder Scrolls World about a floating city set about 40 or so years after the events in Oblivion. Maybe an "easter egg"? I believe it's definitely not a coincidence.

It's certainly possible.

Yes, I believe Ysolda means Umbriel. Technically this would not usually be considered an easter egg, because it references something within the game world, but I think it's definitely there to make you think about it.

Yeah, that's the one mention of Umbriel and all the events surrounding it in Skyrim. I found it a bit curious that it wasn't mentioned anywhere else, since all the events of those books are why Umbra, previously one of the strongest weapons in either Morrowind or Oblivion, isn't' available in Skyrim.

Interesting, and add to it that she adds that it sounds like a fairy tale or nonsense, too.
