Something to think about.

Hey all, new to the forum, not the game =P.

Was wondering what you all would think about turning the random dragon attacks off or making them less likely.

I wouldn't be opposed to being able to go into the options menu and turning the dragon encounters on and or off.

Sometimes it gets annoying, and causes the game to freeze and/or lag. So there would be a added benefit to the stability as well. Good be a good patch idea to run through Bethesda, if this is even at all possible.
Let me know, curious to see what others think of the idea, sometimes its just nice to play the side quests without having to go into the whole dragon born thing =P.

Lurk on the board long enough, and you'll learn that people want a toggle for everything.

TES VI will include toggles for everything including combat and graphics. If you choose the latter, it turns the game into a text adventure.

I personally thing random dragon attack should be frequent while MQ is active, and rare when it is finished. Kinda like how an Oblivion gate opening in the nearby area was a 25% chance from between the one you close at Kvatch, to the Dagon Shrine quest (?). From that point it was 100% chance untill you finished MQ. After that, all gates closed with a 0% chance of one opening.

Something like that, but not so extreme at the end.

Don't play with your toggle, you'll go blind!

I agree, but this doesn't seem like an unusual request/option. A button that would just disable the line and/or lines of code that cause the random dragon encounters in theory shouldn't be that hard to do, but as rocky as the PS3 has been lately with bugs, there are probably more pressing matters to attend to. =/

You already have this feature.

Don't do the Jarl of Whiterun's dragon slaying quest.

"Oblivion" gave you the freedom to do as you pleased and people complained they couldn't roleplay.

"Skyrim" takes these people by the hand to help them roleplay and they complain they are being led.

Wasn't it a Bioware developer who wanted a "skip all combat" feature so you could go from scripted cutscene to scripted cutscene? :teehee:
