Something is wrong with my interest in Skyrim

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:58 am

Well I still like Skyrim a lot and I'm interest to play it. Even thought I'm getting tired with it very fast. At first I played 44 levels before I was ready for a new character then it lasted 34 levels then 27 levels then 10 and now only 7. What's wrong with me why I'm getting tired with my characters? I'm trying to have different race and type of characters but it still doesn't feel so exciting as it should be. Can anyone tell me how to get back the good feeling of the game?

Take a break. Play some Fallout, Oblivion, or Morrowind. Hell, go play Binding of Isaac, MW3, or ANYTHING else.

You just need a break.

Maybe take a break and try real life for awhile?

Not flaming you, but it seems like you have been playing a lot.

Take a break from the game and come back when you are ready.

Get a life.

For someone who started his own thread whining about other people whining, you turned out to be the life of the party!

NOT.

I don't think 'taking a break' is the solution to this problem- of being bored with Skyrim.
There is something different about skyrim from the last two elder scrolls games, for me anyway, and possibly some of you.
There is a boredom factor, 'why am I doing this?"

I don't know why.

Maybe a break would be right choice to have. And about the real life I have a one already - at the day time when I'm taking care of my three children. At night time I just play Skyrim to keep loneliness away. I don't know if it's lot or not compared to your experience but steam says I have played only 174 hours.

And as Old Grog said it may be that Skyrim has a little boredom factory which gives you feeling you are repeating things even you try to play differently. I also think the game world is a little bit too small and gives you all kind of stuff too early in the game.

Take a break and wait for the new DLC for some more fun

Happy new year everybody :celebrate:

That's the problem I'm enjoying it and not-enjoying it at same time. It makes me frustrated.

I find I'm less and less into it the higher my level. I love it when I'm first starting out but my first character I only played to level 28 then I started again.

You just level too fast in this game. I can't stress that enough or say it enough. You level up too fast!

You say you have tried different races and different types of characters, but have you played them any differently?
On my second playthrough, I turned left (towards Falkreath) instead of right. I ignored most random fetch quests and did things my first character didn't (specifically, Daedric quests). I played selfish instead of helpful- sought power instead of gold.
Also, I walked everywhere.
As a result, I had a very different experience. I saw parts of the world that I hadn't before. I met different NPCs and explored different caves and ruins.
The whole thing felt less grindy.

Don't try to win. Just play :twirl:

Is that so? How it's possible? Can it be so because I normally pick up three skills for character I'm playing to use them as major skills in the game and others only when forced to?

With my first character I played with Nord warrior (two-handed and light armor) and completed main quest and civil war and several misc quest and went looted every Nordic ruins I was able to find. Second character I played as Thalmor agent, went to Falkreath at start. During the game I killed all Talos priests, Falkreaht guards, several stormcloaks, some imperial nobles and completed DB quest line. Third character I played as Orc warrior (sword, shield and heavy armor) and went to Whiterun and Bleak Falls Barrow just to get Dragons in the game and then completed the Companions quest line. Then I decided to have a breton mage. I completed Bleak Falls Barrow to get dragons in the game and then started my way to College of Winterhold. I was on my way to it when I had problems with a pack of wolves and white sabre tooth cat. I loaded several times but figured out it's almost impossible to keep lvl 10 pure wizard alive (pure wizards = all levels for magicka, all perks for magic skills, only robes and no weapons). So I never reached the College. Then I created my Argonian Dovahkiin who's main purpose was to slay dragons. I completed Bleak falls Barrows to get dragons in the game and after slaying my first one I was on the stairs of Dragonreach going to see Jarl when I totally lost my interest in that character.

I'm not sure if it matters. I try to spread the skills I use around in an effort to slow my levelling but I still level up at the drop of a hat so I don't know.
