Hello All,

I've recently taken an interest in enchanting and being a combat oriented character I was hoping somebody could tell me where to find an item with the Soul Trap enchant which can be disenchanted? I'm currently level 38 on 1 character and 31 on another and have yet to find an item with a Soul Trap enchant aside from the Mace of Molag Bal. Am I just looking in all the wrong places or are there no items I can disenchant with this enchantment on them? Any help people can give me would be greatly appreciated. Really hoping the answer isn't that it's some completely random drop and if it is I must have some really really bad luck.

It is completely random I'm afraid. Check the vendors often, and you'll be sure to find one eventually.

If you use a melee-oriented follower, give him/her the Mace of MB and a bunch of soulgems.

Check the blacksmith in Whiterun, she always seems to have one for me.

That and flee creature or skeleton.

They pop out fairly often just from vendors.

You are best served hunting down the Axe of Fiery Soul Trap though.

all you do is when you find a soul trap item like a sword or bow, and you'll find one at a vendor or just around eventually you just discenchant it then you can make your own soul trap weapon, i use a bow, give it 1 sec charge to trap soul, in the meantime you can buy a soul trap spell from any of the court wizards, usyually every major town, markarth, solitude, whiterun etc all have a wizard in the main palace that sells spells, and the general store merchants like in whiterun or riverwood sell some spells also.

The Axe of Whiterun is a steel waraxe that you get when you become Thane of Whiterun. It is ok if you are a low level but perfect for disenchanting as is the aforementioned bow. There is also a two handed axe on a monument on a mountain above Alfrand, NE of Whiterun. Good luck with your hunt!

The Axe of Whiterun doesn't always have soul trap on it, mine had frost damage.
