Soulgems and Enchantments - Something I'd like to see

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 8:51 pm

I wish that it would show whose soul was trapped in a soul gem. For example, I wish a filled black soul gem I was carrying were labeled as Black Soul Gem (Lydia) rather than Black Soul Gem (Grand Soul). As it is now, I have tons of soul gems and they just don't seem so valuable because I can't remember whose soul I used. Adding in the name of the person or creature's soul who was captured would add some more depth to soul trapping and enchanting. Then when I use the soul to enchant a weapon, I would name the weapon accordingly, and it would be great if you could add a short description to the items enchanted, noting that it is powered by Lydia's soul, for example. This is my sword, infused with the soul of Ulfric Stormcloak.

Would anyone else like to see this?

I would settle for it to at least say what type of soul was captured, instead of the generic "Soul Captured".

RIP
Soul names
Spell making
Levitation
Teleport

How about a way to use that captured soul, other than to simply charge a weapon or staff?

For instance - placing it as a slave inside a dwemer robot, a statue, an animal, or something else?

Think about it - some of the draugr whose souls you capture could be very, very valuable as conscripted followers. The possibilities are intriguing.
