Spare Dragon Souls and what to do with them.

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:56 am

Hi all,

Seeing as we're dragonborn, we slay dragons and take their souls, only what do we do with them once we have gotten all the words and shouts? I'm sitting on 40 spare souls and thinking what else could these things be used for after their initial purpose?

So I'm curious to know if anyone has any ideas out there for other uses for these things and ask them to share it.

Idea I've had is to use them for recharging weapons. Either the same as any other soul gem or add an extra affect/buff to it. For example it'll double the amount of charges for that time, or add an extra effect to elemental weapon enchants like fire has a chance to cause an AoE explosion, frost ones chance to paralyse etc.

You should be able to use them to instantly use another dragon shout, skipping the cooldown.

I've been pondering the possibility of a mod that would allow you to convert excess dragon souls into perk points.

Lets say... five souls gets you a new perk or something like that. Maybe ten if that's too generous.

There really isn't anything you can do with them.

So making a mod of that when the CK comes out. It will probably increase with each perk though.

I'm not talking about game difficulty, I am talking about the ease of which, and rate that the souls are set up to be acquired in. They gave us a limitless, and at times incredibly frequent source of "currency" to fuel a finite amount of upgrades.

Ah, my apologies then. :)

Perhaps they might get utilized in a future DLC... new shouts, maybe? Time will tell.

Another person came up with the idea of using like 10 of them for a perk or something. This way, you were not constricted to the soft cap of 50 perks.

How about a mod for some kind of giant soul gem, basically a big jar to store them in, that lets you see them all flying around inside as little spectral dragons.

There is no soft cap of 50 perks.
