Specific Class Repertoire

I wish at certain points in the game you could pick specializations for your character to follow. Like at the beginning of the game, for example, you would have to choose which faction you would like to follow, which you cannot change, such as: mage specialization would require you to go for training at the college, warrior training would require you go join the companions, and to be a thief/sneak, of course, the thieves guild. However, the next catch is at level 40 or 50, you go through another transition where things can get very interesting.

The following mage paths:
Continuing magic specialization--you may join the Psijic Order
Going to a "sneak" specialization--you may join the Dark Brotherhood
Going to a warrior specialization--you may join the Vigilants of Stendarr

The following thief paths:
Continuing thief specialization--you may become a Nighting Gale
Going to a mage specialization--you may join the Dark Brotherhood
Going to a warrior specialization--you may join the Penitus Oculotus

The following warrior paths:
Continuing the warrior specialization--you may join the Blades
Going to a mage specialization--you may join the Dark Brotherhood
Going to a thief specialization--you may join the Alik'r

Also each specialization would open up unique items only that specialization can receive. You would also have the choice to remain independent. I believe this to be a great way to increase RP prospects. The specializations also do not limit you to learning magic if you war a double specialized warrior, for example, you just have more prowess with the archetype.

I'm glad you can do everything if you choose to.

There's a reason why Bethesda builds their games like that. They don't want players locked out of anything if they choose to do it all.

Which I find appealing. If I don't want to do all the quests, I simply don't do them. The option of being able to though is nice.

What if i want to be a sneaky mage but not join the DB? This severly limits roleplaying options. Id rather have the freedom we have now, which lets us do everything.

It's too easy to become leader of everything in my opinion, and it also makes very little logical sense, since all these organizations would come to rely on you, so the moment they have trouble they would collapse if you aren't there to lead them all.

A person who is leader of so many organizations, would also realistically be seen as extremely dangerous and undesirable, no matter your reputation you would have constant assassins after you and other issues, especially if your role becomes public, your guilds would start fighting with each other, or having power struggles where half or more of the members decide you are unfit to lead, or demand you to confirm where your loyalties truly lie.

You don't have to join them, but based on the skills you have chosen to follow that would be a path open to you. It's much like the Kotor series (which has won numerous game of the year awards). If you are going to be "good" you can't be a Sith Lord even if being a good Sith Lord was to be your RP. Some things just don't make sense, and as re123 said, Bethesda should limit the amount of organizations one should join to make more "logical sense." Another example would be: Why would a mage join the Companions? You wouldn't as none wield magic, and when you practice with Farkas he doesn't want you to use magic. It would completely go against the RP of the group's identity, values, and beliefs if the Archmage of the College of Winterhold decided to join the Companions.

No, they shouldn't. It's a waste of time, which can be better spent on making some better quests or something similarly useful.

I'm not saying that they should go back and do it because the game is already made. I'm just saying that they should have done this, or should replicate this in the future.
