"Specific Reference" Alias creating dirty records?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:48 am

Hello, I am trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong or this is just how the CK works ...

When I create an reference alias and use the "Specific Reference" option to select a specific item in a specific cell, I notice that that item is also marked as modified, not just the quest (and script) that contains the Alias.
This seems rather strange to me? Does that mean the reference from the Alias is also recorded in the item itself? Why would it do that?

Is this normal, or am I doing something seriously wrong?
By the way, when I mark the dirty record to be ignored, it isn't removed. Re-loading and saving the file appears to just clear the "Ignore" flag.
Removing the Alias allows me to remove the record as normal.

Related issue: is it normal for the Alias editing menu to take 5 or more seconds to load? Every time I want to edit/add an alias I have to wait far too long for it!!

And last thing: I am also having an issue with Aliases that use Conditions to fill themselves - I've had it only filling with objects that are themselves recorded in the mod. So, the Alias alone doesn't work, it doesn't fill. If I touch one of the objects that ought to be fulfilling the conditions - touch so it becomes a dirty record, but not really changing anything - then the Alias fills properly ...

Please, I really need some help with these, at least a second opinion.
Especially the last thing, the Alias filling problems ..

I've found that I can just use a property instead of a "Specific Reference" Alias, though I am still wondering if it is normal behaviour for it to add dirty records?

In both cases, you are making the reference you are pointing at persistent, which is why that reference is also considered changed.
