Spells and Scripting assistance.

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:27 pm

Good day folks. I'm at my wit's end here and I've come to ask one question. Is there anyway I could have dogs or mammoths cast spells? I've tried just about everything, except scripting. I would like to know if this would even be possible? Through scripts or otherwise? If someone could help me that would make my day.

Le bump.

Edit: View counter just changed 17. My apologies for the bump, thought no one saw it.

Spellcasting through the AI on those actors probably won't work because they have no spellcasting animations. There's no reason you can't use scripting to make them cast spells, though, as long as you don't care about casting animations. I've made invisible actors with disabled AI cast spells, as well as activators. In particular, check out the Cast and RemoteCast functions.

Seems the head node on those animals is inside the body. This annoys me to no end, because I want undead mammoths, giants, and wolves to vomit on people. Not chest burst all over them aliens style. And of course, I wont be going through and moving the nodes on every single creature, because I have no idea how to do that.

Kind of unrelated to this topic, but kind of related as well.

you could do some math-y position stuff to move an invisible activator to near their heads and cast from that...
