This quest has stopped me dead for the master destruction spells, I can get the other two pedestals to work but this damn one will not activate, I've tried reloading from a previous point and restarting the quest with no joy.

As a quest bug it's not a game stopper as such, but it limits the Mage character to under powered spells for the highest level, FFS how many patches do they have to issue to get it right? Half a year after launch, new content on the imminent horizon and still these game ruining bugs are persistent.

Wiki mentions a bug related to this pedestal not giving the book after the spell has been casts and to restart from scratch but nothing about the pedestal being inactive. To make things worse there seems to be a freeze glitch on the path up to the four skulls lookout which is reproducible, the exact area can be circumvented to avoid it, I'm guessing this bug has been introduced with 1.6 as others have posted freeze points with this patch.

Does anyone have a fix for the inactive pedestal I could try?
