In Skyrim, correct me if I'm wrong, getting hit while blocking causes you stagger way more often than getting hit while NOT blocking. This is completely counter-intuitive and makes no sense. Most of the time when you're hit by an enemy in Skyrim you are budged in no way. Maybe if it's a powerattack you'll stagger (I don't really remember), or maybe it'll cancel your current attack (don't really remember either), but you are not staggered.
But when blocking, that is, when you are preparing and tightening you're body for an incoming blow, you are budged.
I suggest we do the opposite.
Have attacks upon you while not blocking stagger you significantly more than you are staggered while blocking in the current game. And keep blocked attacks pretty much the same, or maybe be staggered a little less.
Of course, this may cause balance issues with playstyles unable to block, but I'm sure they're a solution.
(Oh, and just throwing a second idea out there. Have the direction of attack alter the direction that the enemy/player is staggered. Make weapons feel like they have weight behind them. Just an idea)
