Stamina regen slows down when in combat.

Any reason for this? Or is the Stamina regeneration during combat the actual normal value, and then you get a boost while you're out of combat?

Just wondering.

It does slow down in combat. So does health and magicka regen. Nobody knows why, it's rather silly. There are console commands and mods that change it.

It's simply added as an extra difficulty measure during combat. The same thing happens with Magicka. They just do this so that when you're running out of combat you don't have to constantly stop and gain your breath, while during combat you do. This forces the player to put points into their desired attribute in order to play more easily. Hope this explains :P

they do it so that you cant spam power attacks or spells constantly. just take alook at how fast they regenerate out of combat. it would be pointless to even have the bars if you could refresh that fast in combat. on top of that you can increase regen rates with enchantments which would make you even more ridiculously god like. im glad they did it this way.

being out of stamina after 3 2h-hits isnt nice. so chose quick battles against a few enemies or run away and recharge stamina or do it like i do and get a mod to increase power and magic regeneration in combat to 100%. doenst feel right if you have to watch for a wow-like "in combat" "out of combat" as tactics in a otherwise pretty realistic gameplay!

I think it was planned to ensure people use the shouts- Bethesda knows us more than we think, and they know many players like to play traditional sword-n-board. They wanted a reason for those players to still want/need to use the shouts, an incentive to continue to collect them.

Because when you're sprinting around and exerting yourself, you don't feel like you're gaining energy, but rather spending it? At least that's how I feel when I do sports. I actually have to stop and rest to regain stamina, so I'm rather impressed with the Dovahkiin here being able to do so while in combat.

Your Stamina does not recharge as fast in battle because, well, your using up your Stamina.

It is assumed that you can jog or trot all day long, but sprinting and fighting use up Stamina.

There should be 200% more Stamina and Mana, and regen should stay as is.

When you are fighting, you're expending reserves. When you are not fighting, you are resting. You can't be constantly regenerating everything, it'd be godmode...

If you're wearing magical items... yes you should, but they don't seen to make a difference.

So do magical items that say Magika regen +20% effect during combat or out or both?

Is 'combat time' not different from 'non combat time'?

Which is completely NORMAL in most games, but you are really looking at it the wrong way I would say that the regen is faster out of combat rather than it's slower in combat.

The reason for the regens being faster out of combat is to minimize downtime which makes perfect sense.
