So I stare at the back of my character's head for 100+ hours

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:29 pm

But I can't see the back of it during the character creation?

I'd like to know what the back of the hairstyles look like before accepting it.

Same, why they couldn't of allowed you to rotate your character is just....... Dumb.

I'd like to see my character's face during dialogue.

Why bother trying to make them look decent during the creation process if I'm always looking at the back of their head, usually covered by a helmet? I'll sometimes go into third person mode and remove their helmet, just to remind myself what my character looks like.

I agree, all that time fine tuning features.. to spend all day looking at the back of a hood ? I mostly wear a circlet now.. but some mage robes have the hood attached so can't even opt to lose magicka and not wear head gear

Speaking of helmets, several games (including most recent Bioware games such as DA2 and Mass Effect) allow you the aesthetic of wearing your helmet without having it hide your face. That's something I'd like to see in Skyrim.

It's also not possible to change the length of the hair.

Yeah, I miss to be able to have a 360 degrees look at my character before I accept.

Hey, that would be a cool next step for pc games - show the reverse angle on 2nd monitor! Would provide some incentive to make cards more powerful

They should have had a similar inventory like Morrowind, Oblivion, and now Reckoning has. Every time you open your inventory, you see your full character

Oh, but I'm pretty sure most people would prefer to get a close up shot of an apple

Another thing that bugged me is the eyes. Several of the various eye types look similar, but since I can't zoom in, I can't tell the difference. And then on some characters, you can't even see any differences due to the darkness.

Oh, that's another thing that bugged me. If I want to see what a type of armor looks like on me, I have to equip then exit out of the menu, then go back in to switch to something else. >.<

I agree.

It would actually make more sense if my character's ass had more customization options than her face, as I rarely even see the latter!

I myself would argue that nothing about the character creation includes fine tuning. It just isn't possible with this style of creator. My options are far too limmited.

(Don't tell me to go get mods)

I wouldn't. Talk about an emmersion breaker. I can acquire the armor bonus of a Daedric Helmet, without actually appearing to be wearing it! Pointless!

Do what everyone else does in Skyrim when they have a bad hair day, wear a helmet.

I am surprised that we can't spin the head, I never tried in this game.

Haha but that wouldn't feel "Apple-like" for an interface. Remember the kings of modern shallow slickness are to be emulated when designing RPG's about ancient evils and a legendary hero.

Well it`s obviously an oversight. When you make your character they try to be realistic by just making the character turn his head left or right and because he`s standing they assumed he can`t turn any more.

They forgot that the character can use its feet to turn around!

They try to make something better, but it`s actually worse for design.

This.

double-this: 1st-person.

but, it's just another shame on beth's part and a joke on us.

this game has so many deficiencies it's getting beyond ridiculous.

It's optional to hide the helmet.

Don't worry, you won't worry about your own helmet disappearing :)

It's an option for all the players who like to play without helmets but don't want to lose the AWESOME bonuses that come from wearing a full set.
