State of the art mod management?

Hi all,

I'm finally putting together a mod setup complex enough that stuff like BOSS and Bash (...Smash?) are required. Obviously, though, things have changed a bit since Oblivion; Bash is semi-abandoned, and there are new contenders in the form of NMM and the Steam Workshop. Oh yeah, and the game launcher itself can re-order mods.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of what these various utilities are currently capable of, and what their pitfalls are?
