Statics only appearing with "Is Full LOD"?

I made a little island out of mountain pieces and put a "nordic dwelling" (one of the circular mounds with interior) on it. Looked fine in the editor, but in-game there was just the interior of the dwelling floating above the water. No exterior walls or island. On a hunch, I checked "Is Full LOD" on all the references, and there they were in the game. I looked at other places where the same statics were used, and the box was not checked. From the description, that box should only affect being seen from great distances, not from the same cell. Maybe being a hair's width from the "You cannot go that way" border had something to do with it?

I wondered about this myself. My house disappears whenever I fast travel, but if I walk to it from a cell nearby, it's there like you'd expect.

Nice catch. Confirming that in my case, setting the "Is Full LOD" box makes all of the disappearing statics I used appear where they belong.

That's what I thought, except they keep disappearing. It may be related to my test save. I'm going to try it with a new character and see if it persists.

Was this not available in Beta?

The problem of statics not displaying was raised in beta, but no pattern for how to get it to happen consistently exits. Nobody thought to try the LOD checkbox because that shouldn't really be a factor and will cause performance issues across the board if everyone ends up using it as a workaround.
