Stats for new characters

Hey all, I was wondering if they said yet if there are going to be items/quests/etc that increase your base stats. Something along the lines of the bobble heads in fo3.

For example, if I am making a mad scientist build, I want to know if I need 9 int or 10 at start. Since weapons also have minimum stat requirements, it has potential of making some builds more desirable then others :P

Bobble heads are confirmed to not be in the game, neither are any items giving magic bonuses.

Snowglobes will do what the bobbleheads used to. There's skill mags which give a temporary boost, and supposedly a way to increase them permanently. It will be harder to do than in 3, though.

Well first yes items can increase skill while wearing them, second no quest dont improve you skills but lvling up u can improve them. Third average your skills out, if you have never played fallout before you will learn going to only intelligance is a bad idea, try to average.

I heard with snow globes they dont increase stats but instead after you find them all you get a big reward.

Didn't they confirm that snowglobes will not do what bobbleheads did?
Skill books permanently ups your skill but they are far rarer than skill magazines which gives temporary boosts.
FotA will have a way for the PC to raise his SPECIAL, it is not known whether it will be expensive or not or if it's quest-relative or not.

He's talking about roleplaying. A mad scientist wouldn't even need charisma. You've got to try and think like the people you answer questions for.

Well, we still have certain clothing items such as hats that provide small boosts to certain stats when you wear them, snoglobes are replacing bobbleheads and no longer give you a permanent bonus, however collecting them all is supposed to give you an in-game reward. There are skill magazines that provide a temporary boost to skills while there are also very few skill books that provide permanent boosts. As for the rest I don't know.

Please, you are starting to flamebait wich can lead to an argument. And he was talking about if he wanted a mad scientist build should he completly ignore certain skills, so i said no try to ballance most of it, but he can still have more in int i just suggest he dosnt go to 9 points.
