I have a minor obsession with customizing every little thing then recustomizing. Thank god I can mess with all the weapons, outfits, and skill sets. Leveling up to get different skill sets is a painful grind, but even that problem with most fps' was solved by simply lowering the level cap. All of these minor customizations working in tandem during the game.
You know, I wished that TF2 had COD4's weapons when I played it. Now it does in BRINK. In addition to the weight classes, this dual-strategy of TF2-ish tactics and weight-based combat preferences is just amazing. FEAR 2 got me obsessed with weight classes for strategic potential and still has awesome multiplayer. BRINK has the special abilities and game structure though.
Mirror's Edge. Who else would have the simple sense to just copy different game elements that are awesome and put them in together? Mirror's Edge, Team Fortress 2, and Call of Duty 4 are what BRINK is. (plus the graphics style which is unique though post-apocalyptic like many great games have been lately*)
Such a great combination of just the right elements and such attentiveness to fans with their quick updates and soon-to-release FREE "Agents of Change" DLC. They have my respect for this quality.
The only "flaw" would be that it has about $35-worth of content. A flaw that only non-dedicated-fans experience. As a lover of Splash Damage since Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, I don't mind making a little extra donation.
*Borderlands, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, RAGE, STALKER series, Team Fortress 2
