At level 59 with 100 sneak, 5/5 stealth and all sneak perks I find
that I can no longer sneak up on characters like I used to.
Day or night, indoors and outdoors if I sneak up on an enemy I
an spotted right away. Back when I was a lower level with sneak
90 and 2/5 stealth I could walk up behind anyone or anything and
never get detected no matter where it was, what lighting level there
was etc. My apparel then and now is elven light armor with no sneak
enchantments.
I am curious if anyone knows if any sneak perk or skill/perk level that
might break sneaking, so I don't waste any points in my next character
playthrough.

I hope this doesn't happen to me.

I usually wear some sneak enchantments.

That would svck if that happens to me also. I am near to having 100 sneak too...However, I would not be surprised if that is the case that a Perk actually breaks Sneak. I do not think I will be buying the next game from Bethesda...

Uh, did you take Shadow Warrior by any chance?

I am about to. Is that what is causing the issues with Sneak being broken?

Sometimes if you turn into a full blown Vampire your Sneak resets.....another known bug in the otherwise great game.

There maybe an issue with that perk at the moment. But maybe not, since there maybe something with having the 100 skill level, and having all five Stealth perks.

Another possibility is maybe with how enemy detection scales from how the radiant AI adjusts to your skills.

Geez, what is the point of continuing? With all that is glaringly wrong with this game, I was trying to continue none the less and still try and have a good time. What a way to be rewarded for all of the effort and time it takes to reach 100 level in any skill...

I took Shadow Warrior and literally I can sneak in front of someone, stab 'em real quick and either assassinate or do the 30x damage bonus every time. Either way they're always dead. As for being detected while sneaking, doesn't happen unless I make a mistake usually. I've got the DB boots on with muffle so that might have something to do with it.

I took that perk too. And it was working fine for about one or two days.. now i have all the symptoms vongo have, plus my shadow warrior perk is broken, can't do 30x bonus.... so... good luck

No matter the sneak skill, opponents will still hear you... So use muffle illusion spells or muffled boots

No matter what I use and how I use it, my shadow warrior perk won't work (and was working VERY well few day ago).
