Steam (ing) Pile of [censored]

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 11:42 am

The most awful thing I have ever experienced in PC gaming (I am quite old you might imagine, 45- as a matter of fact)! What is this Steam nonsense?
I have had Skyrim crash on me repeatedly with Steam errors, spent ages deleting registry entries and reinstalling Steam, only for it to interupt the game constantly. I have been 'denied access at this time' to Skyrim for the past couple of days, subjected to unwanted advertising and in game 'stats' that I really don't want- why not give your customers the option of installing Steam Bethesda? I have bought Arena, Dagerfall, Morrowind, Morrowind GOTY, Oblivion, Shivering Isles, Fallout 3 (advised against New Vegas due Steam and bugs) and I have had a perfectly realised 'experience' without any uneccessary intervention, up to now.
I paid retail price for the game so why can I not use it when I decide, in the same way I can read any books I bought, DVD's, coffee, my car, flushing toilet all of which are available ALL THE TIME!
This is a very cynical and sinister development and an insult to your customers Bethesda.
....grrrrrrrrr.........

We have a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1286613-unofficial-steamdrm-discussion/ in our Community Discussion sub-forum, if you wanted to participate in that.

Also, avoiding our forum's censor is against our http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/:

2. Cursing/Swearing is not allowed.

We do not allow any bad language on these forums. Swearing, even with asterisks, intentionally misspelling, omitting letters, other characters replacing letters or any other form of avoidance is not permitted. Doing so will result in a warning for bypassing the autocensor. In addition, if your post contains close to nothing but [censored] tags, it too can be considered excessive swearing and be cause for a warning.

You can also post your problem in the PC Issues thread if you wanted to attempt to get some help with the problems you're having.
