Steam Top 20 Sellers

Lets put it this way. I can snapshoot a fast moving mutant in the head, no waiting. My buddy who is pretty good with a controller, many years of console practice, is a wonderful driver but is chopped meat in combat in a no auto aim PC game.

So, consoles are dumbed down, simply because your friend is familiar with a controller over a keyboard and mouse? sound lgoic.

Auto aim ... need any more clues?

I dont know the guy youre talking about and dunno what battery of tests you performed to reach that conclusion, but.....
there are ergonomic differences between the two, that some find difficult to get past.
I have a friend that does well with a mouse and keyboard, but doesnt have the same coordination on a controller..
So if we plug in your logic, what does that say?

I myself find games more difficult on ps3 as opposed to the 360, not because the actual games are any more or less difficult, but because the 360 just feels better for me. I also enjoy the feel of a mouse and keyboard for FPS games, and didnt seem to suffer while playing DOOM3, HL or any of its DM mods. *shrugs*

and as i stated in a previous post in this very thread, not all console games are all auto aim, some aren't and some can even toggle.
Red Dead Redemption comes to mind. huh

The word for the day is "preference".
And preferences, well.. they are a lot like opinions.

Auto aim for one. No console can operate without it.

Lol funny joke. It's not like some games give you the option to turn it off, or don't even have it all or anything...

I really hate the dumb consoles. They have hurt gaming in general.

But c'mon you're old enough to know, and me too, I'm 58, and we went through years and years of crappy PC games. We've witnessed PC game quality decline steadily, the near withering away of the gaming industry due to lack of decent hardware to run them and lack of gaming interest in general. Now we are really in game heaven, a rennaissance . . . Point is - if it wasn't for the rise of Xbox and Playstation the gaming industry would very possibly be stalled in a quagmire of underbudgeted and uninspired games. Talk about dumbed down? To blame consoles for your gaming quality woes and disrespect what big screen HD console gaming has done to boom the gaming industry, for all platforms, is just plain unwarranted and slightly blind. Get real and be glad. Long live PC and console gaming as far as I'm concerned.

I never played the crappy ones. There were lots of fine games around. I'm not sure what you mean by renaissance but from my point of view we just had Rage be much less than it could have been due to it's console focus. The game won't even stress my system before it goes into lag a and freeze land. A console game compiled for PC.

No one pits consoles against M&K in deathmatch because the console guys get owned by even poor PC players. MS did try a few years ago and had to shut it down. My friend is a pretty good GTA player and can shoot stuff just fine. In Rage, the PC version, though all the console auto stuff is turned off and he is just not fast enough to play well. I do 180s all the time in a split second, he takes a lot longer just to turn around.

Now the console is the money platform it will only get worse. Stalker2 is scaring a lot of us as we have no idea how you could have a console port that can do the game justice. I bind 20 keys and my guns are on my trackball. I need em' all and I need that stuff fast in a regular game.

How you can criticize the launch of RAGE & praise STALKER is totally beyond me!
STALKER had more bugs than mutants - it took the 'complete mod' to make the STALKER games, urr, complete!
I've put hours into the 3 STALKER games, thought they were awesome. But just don't have the patience or luxury of time any more.

As a long time PC gamer I also loved RAGE, totally loved it - apart from the ending which we all know svcked.
No broken quests, excellent voice acting, and stunningly beautiful graphics that ran like a champ on my 3 year old rig.
The animations & combat were a step above anything I've seen since the original FEAR.

It's not consoles that killed PC RAGE, if indeed they did.
It's PC elitists like yourself who created a bandwagon of hate because they didn't get the game THEY wanted.

Amen to that.

Things that were announced about Rage long before its release:
-It would NOT be open world.
-It would look pretty much the same accross all 3 platforms.
-It was NOT borderlands or fallout.

And yet, idiots keep complaining that the game is not open world, and they keep complaining that it doesn't look that better on PC, and they keep complaining it wasn't the borderlans/fallout experience...

I get that if you really like some features a game has, you want to see more of it, but it doesn't mean you have to expect that every other game will catch on. Each game is good for its own things.

A PC fail? No, because on PC we can get past 720p.

Exactly. I built this machine for Rage and it's pretty well useless for it. I would be better off with a console for this game and yes that makes me angry.

Cool enough, just don't try to sell us another PC game id. You may not like what happens.

An open world'ish post apocalyptic FPS with RPG elements series. Which is PC exclusive. They're awesome.

Top sellers on Steam means nothing, it's only based on the sales of the last couple of days or so. And the STALKER bundle got a nice discount during the halloween sale.
