I posted this before and I shall post it again. last time i was accused of exagerating.
Why is it, that im still sat here 2 hours and 47 mins later waiting for the total crap that is steam to "prepare fallout: NV" ????

This is a total waste of time, what ever happened to the old days when you good insert a disc, install it and play??? I hate all the online activation stuff.

Sorry Bethtesda, but im not buying your games while you are supporting Steam :brokencomputer:

Cancelling the install and wont be playing F:NV.

In the future please do not repost a locked thread without explicit moderator permission, if this happens again you will receive an official warning.

Steam should only require a minute or two at most to confirm the game so I'm not sure what problem you have encountered. I would suggest contacting Steam support about this as they can give you more help than we can.

A few people have encountered a bug where they'd have the disk but Steam would start downloading the game rather than retrieving it from the disk. I believe this has something to do with the order of installing and while I don't know the solution off the top of my head a quick search should give it to you. Perhaps that's what happened to you and the time spending "preparing FONV" was Steam downloading it.
