I knew it was going to be a mistake and it was. I let STEAM go online and it updated itself and made itself "user" friendly I believe it also updated Skyrim from 1.7 to 1.8.

Now I can't load anything. It starts to load and then my game crashes to desktop EVERY time. I've gone back several saves with the SAME issues. I don't run a lot of mods but WTH? this is not fun at all.

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Even with "not a lot of mods" the problem can be one single mod.
Disable all your mods (except maybe the pure texture replacements), and see if the game still crashes.
Also things like SKSE and SkyUI probably need updating.
