I think January is specific enough. And it also aims to fix the lag issues on PS3. Whether it will actually achieve this and if it is retroactive, remains to be seen.

People complained when they release the game too soon. And people complain when things are not released quick enough. It's a no win situation for them.

With what went wrong with the 1.2 patch I really want them to take their time so as to not mess up quests for those not having problems, or mess up quests that were not broken to begin with. But I agree that some info would be nice.

They are probably working hard on the Construction Kit and the steam workshop platform. They said that they would release the CK in January and that hasn't changed as far as I know.

people might complain if they take too long but at least they won't complain because something is wrong with the game, which makes the companies look really bad.

its more about communication. letting use no problems solutions work in progress ect. silence is just that. you only have to read the couple of comments released to see the grovelling, if they [censored] up like tgey have with 1.2 and the ps3 they shouble be more forth coming there would be less resentment that way. How hards it to right a message once a week.

Something along the lines of we have a patch ready to fix some bugs. The patch will be released next week. We have just found another bug so now that will be fixed and added to the new patch so the patch won't be out until this bug has been fixed.the patch will be released in 2 weeks. Oh no wait we have another glitch we just found. but we won't fix that one we will just release this patch now and then fix that other bug later. I don't see the point in all this info.

because they were making about 20% of their profits from the 11-11-11 dateline, it's all about money this days

Bethesda has always released horribly broken games. Skyrim is no exception to that.

They absolutely make up for it though with great mod support and they also take their time to listen to what people are saying about their games. You don't see many gaming forums where the actual developers are as active. ;)

Rather don't ask questions like this. It usually erupts in a flame war while your question goes unanswered anyway. The best you can hope for is "somewhere in January is still the plan". It will probably be updated eventually to "somewhere in February" once we run out of January. There are no news here or on their official blog other than the latest rewards and other non related stuff.

I guess it's better that they just work on it instead of creating too much hype and then getting even more complaints.

No, not really. In fact the only Bethesda Game Studios game I've ever really enjoyed is Morrowind, and that's just because I could mod it. I'm not a big fan of Bethesda but you've got to give them credit for putting so much emphasis on the modding and community support for their games. Not many companies do that.

Runic Games is another company that has an active forum where the devs post frequently, Trendy Games too (the developers of Dungeon Defenders).

I don't understand why people don't realize a game this size is always going to be buggy as hell the first few months.

Not entirely true. There have been plenty of games this size (and larger) that have had a much smoother launch. Total War Shogun 2 is a good example of this. :)

Tell that to the people that have spent the last 5 YEARS walking around cyrodiil as a vampire.
It's not a question of how long it takes them to fix it,.rather just the sad fact that they WON'T ever fix it. ALL Bethesda games are forever broken.

yeah beth used to be my favorite dev but after skyrim i beg to differ. ive found bethesda no more active on these forums than EA an thats saying somthing, yes they do put effort into fan related stuff, but it still a major selling point, its like there version of multiplayer, they arnt going to cut out one of there best feature.

edit: infact if i think about my time with cnc forums(the games under ea) from tibsun to today has made me remember the community support you did get on ea forums waz definatly more frequent than the odd dev here and there and one update ever couple of months.

lol, why don't they just make a new character, it would take a lot less time than 5 years.

The point is that people have there hopes set on the 1.4 patch fixing everything for Skyrim when the fact that previous games eg: oblivion and fallout are still broken should tell them otherwise.
