Ok so I was playing the first part of the quest "Still In The Dark" and after dealing with the ranger I returned to the BoS (Brotherhood of Steel) to complete the mission, only instead of a warm welcome, I get assaulted with laser rifles!

I really dont know what I did wrong. I think it maybe because before talking to the elder I told Boone to stay in the office, then I was going to tell him to follow; but after the speaking was done I was transported outside.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so how did you get past it?

How did you deal with the ranger?

Did you tell the ranger that the BoS put the collar on you, because that pisses them off.

No, I told him the powder ganger option. It was something like

"They come through here every week or so"

Are you wearing NCR faction clothing?

That actually shouldn't make a difference.

No I wasn't. I had on some standard leather armor. However now that I think about it...Boone might have had some NCR on. I didn't think that was the problem though because they didn't attack until I got back.

Are you sure? I once went in there with a NCR Veteran Ranger Armor on and they attacked.
