Ok...weird. I know the npc's are always saying rude stuff to you, but today for the first time everyone in Solitude keeps saying ( as I am wearing my Nightingale Armor ) That I need a bath and I can sell those rags at Bits and Pieces...lol.
Even the crook down at the docks selling me illegal contraband told me I needed a bath. LOL

It's not your character they're referring to, it's the game being meta having noticed you've been playing 7 days straight without a break

I think the NPCs recognize if you don't have a Rested bonus? Sometimes they'll tell me I look like I could use a bed and cup of mead.

this is sadly totally random. many times i just came out of a tavern, after sleeping there and a guard told me that i look like i would need a bed and a cup of mead.

Obviously they think you are an alcoholic sleep-deprived maniac.

Or they have achieved CHIM and are talking to the Godhead directly, but I highly doubt that.
