Stormcloaks vs. Imperials (Expanded)

So I'm on a Stormcloak mission to take over a fort... I fast-travel to a village nearby. I see 2 Imperials and figure, "Hey since I'm about to kill 50+ imperials anyway, what's 2 more to get things rolling?" A few seconds later I have a 1000 bounty on my head and 2 new murders in my stats. Ok, I reload my game and avoid causing trouble in the village. I sprint to my Stormcloak mates waiting in front of the fort and 50+ dead imperials later I chase down an enemy soldier from the fort all the way to the aforementioned village. A few seconds later I have a 1000 bounty and 1 more murder in my stats... Something needs polishing.

Since the Jarl ordered me to "cause as much trouble to the imperials" as I can, why am I being punished for doing what I'm told? I understand the bounty, since the village might be allied to the Imperials, but what's with the murders? Why wasn't killing 50+ imperials considered murder, then while fighting the same people a few seconds later it becomes murder?

The whole Skyrim war needs expanding. For starters, it would be nice to have stats on how many you've killed on each side. Secondly, it would be nice to allow attacks on enemy camps. Right now there's always that one guy you can't kill, and attacking camps offers nothing besides practice. It seems like Bethesda "wanted" to expand that part of the game since even the commanders of each side order you to kill as many enemies as possible, but you get these anomalies if you execute your orders. It looks like the game is missing some features. I was expecting an enemy count. Maybe getting extra money from the Jarl for each imperial killed, and concrete promotions with actual benefits, like the ability to take any stormcloak with me and access to an elite armory section. How about becoming the lord of my own stronghold, where the more soldiers of the opposite side I kill, the bigger the stronghold gets?

Couldn't agree more buddy, it definitely needs some re-working. At the very least, if you side with the Stormcloaks, any Imperial should be fair game! And those camps where the leader is immortal is just plain stupid in my opinion... It was such a WTF moment when i realised he couldn't be killed.
