The Rules
  • A round of ten questions gets posted every 48 hours (or 72 for weekends). When the next round is started, the preceding round is closed and answers as well as scores will be posted. Once this happens, you can no longer send in answers for the previous rounds.
  • Scores accumulate per round, but by all means, don't be afraid to join in if you're only joining later – who knows, you might still surpass the leader!
  • Answers must be sent via Private Message to me. Do not answer in the thread. Do not give out hints. Saying you found this round hard or easy, or that you only got a few or got a lot is perfectly fine, but no spoiling things for the rest. This goes for commenting on the youtube vid too, in case my moronic brain forgets to disable comments.
  • I will always reply to PM's, give you your score for the round and the questions you got right, but keep that to yourself of course. People from the Bethesda forums, always send me a new PM instead of replying to an older conversation, because I have to delete convos to empty my Inbox to make room for new answers.
  • Do not google, use a certain program which can make music searches possible, or use an image searcher. There is no reward for winning, only bragging rights, which means you'd be stupendously lame to cheat - so please, play fair and don't googeru.
  • If you have a question or are uncertain of the question, PM me. Don't ask in the thread unless it provides absolutely no information that could be used by others. It's just not fun to see someone ruining things.
  • I put a lot of work into making this, so if you want to cry or slag it off, do so via PM, please.
  • Don't report this as being a “forum game”. Forum games are things in the style of 'say something about the member above you', or 'rate the avatar'. This doesn't fall under that rule.
  • Read the questions carefully. Sometimes I just ask to ID the game, sometimes I ask for more.
  • Have fun!

Round Two – Connect the Dots

This is a visual round, aimed mostly at seeing what connects the pictures you're given (and one nostalgia puzzle). Simply answer the question in the image!

Good luck, and remember, DO NOT ANSWER IN THE THREAD!

Cheers, SubTonic!

And by the way, you need to be as specific as possible! This is an easy round so no freebies or 'oh alrights' from me ;)

So, with as specific as possible, do you also want character names and the games they're from and things like that?

No, no. Just not things like, "they die" or "they have dialogue with the player" or "they have an -a- in their name". You know :)

Oh okay, that makes sense! In that case this should turn out to be my best round yet, this one seems very easy in comparison to the others. But I may be very wrong about that, and even if I'm not it'll be like that for everyone, so it won't do my position much good. ^_^

Just reading SubTonic's post, I'll probably score much less than I expected just now... I'll send my answers later and take some more time to think it over.

I think you're doing a fine job of defying cheaters with your rounds, Stormy, kudo's!

Thanks, guys!

And yeah, SubTonic is right, do not get hasty when answering. Search for connections between the characters you recognize and it should all be feasible. Except for the soup cans, that one's just me being mean :D

The only one I'm utterly certain of is the first one. It was all a bit downhill after that.

Take your time and think hard. Someone's already got an 8, so it's not that hard.

Lets just say one of the questions, my answer could be 'characters from games I've never played because I don't recognise any of them'

Woot, second place! Pretty sure I know most of these, too. Would it be considered cheating if I had the answer to No. 7 written down somewhere from when I worked it out all those years back? Because I'm pretty sure I've got it here somewhere...

Well, in some cases, you can deduce the answer just from the appearances of the characters, but yeah, for some, you need to know at least a few :)

Not really no, because even knowing what the image is about is good enough for me :)

Blimey, I actually got several! That rather makes up for my dire performance over the past two rounds. :)

I've decided I don't like it any more. This is a new, dynamic me who aspires to the lofty heights of mediocrity!

I'm loving this round, it's tough but I think I have a decent chance at getting at least 5.

This shouldn't be too hard, might be able to grab a few points. I'm not gonna submit my answers yet though.. :P

Question 2 is bothering me so much. It so obvious yet I can't figure it out right now.

Well, I can take at least some solace in my crummy score last round with the fact that I had only played one of those games, so I was right in that it was stuff I'd listened to just music-browsing and had little chance of remembering. Although the one I'd played, Beyond Good and Evil, wasn't one of the ones I got correctly...the sad thing is that it actually flickered in my head while thinking, and was dismissed with a "nah." It's been years, I mostly remember the more bizarre music from it, like the bar and race music.

Heh, the BG&E one basically hit me like a sack of bricks, since before I could buy it I used to play the demo over and over, and that was the music in the first fight.

Most of the ones I didn't know I hadn't played, but I actually picked up Heroes of Might and Magic V in a steam sale months ago, but just haven't gotten around to playing it.

I knew that Liberi Fatali from FF8 would be one of the songs previous round even before watching the video, it's too iconic not to be.

Yeah, I only played 4 of the games there, and one that I didn't get was BG&E.
