Strange damage observation.

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 4:15 am

So I'm walking around with Legendary Dragonscale Armour and flings spells and such around. I have 340 HP but I some how take a great deal of damage from enemies. Like Draugr Deathlords with Ebony Arrows kills me in three hits or less. However I frequently find myself pinned down by a few lowly mid range bandits with iron or steel arrows depleting my HP relatively quickly. I have 2 or 3 perks in Light Armour but I still take a lot of damage I think.

So is it a bug or am I doing something less than right?

What difficulty? What is your armor rating?

Well, archery is pretty borked as of 1.5

The better arrow you use, the more damage there is, so an iron arrow does I think 8 damage? but paired with a Daedric bow(can't remember the damage for this) it could do (IIRC) 96 damage total.

See what I am getting at?
NPC's using bow and arrows have MUCH higher damage outputs than simply arrowDMG + bowDMG = total
There seems to be arrowDMG + bowDMG + some-random-damage = total

Okay. Sounds like an odd one.

345 is just enough to not be one shot just up your smthing increase your armor to 500-600 over there you'll take less damage 800 is better. just enchant items with fortify smthing and make smthing potion go search on you tube you'll find thousands of videos explaining how to improve your armor.

>>>Legendary Dragonscale Armour<<< ;) I think I need to invest more in armour perks first.

you can level up your smthing up to 300 with potions and enchant, you should also invest points in armor( the +25%bonus armor if you want), enchanting and alchemy.
The first perks to level up are enchanting smthing and alchemy dude otherwise never try to play on master cause draugr deathlord do more than 400 dmg smtimes with their bows

Wow. But isn't there a load of armour caps and stuff? Thus making it pointless. Smithing and Enchant is at 100. Impact and 100% Destruction Cost Reduction = Cakewalk.

Edit: WOAH! Without any arrow equipped I do 59 damage with a Supple Ancient Nord Bow. With Ebony Arrows equipped I inflict 143 damage a shot. O_O

well as i said dude the first thing to do is investing all your first points to enchant and alchemy after you can level up your smthing by doing some jewelry by transmuting iron its more effective since 1.5.
After if you play a mage just level up your armor with +30% fortify smthing on your gear and by making potion to fortify smthing to 130% or more i dont remember and after your can enchant your armor with free magicka for two school of magic :-)

Already done. Well almost. Alchemy is a lil difficult to level I find. Unless you make those super potions that go for 3K a pop.

Use a ward. Arrows are one of those thing that will always do a lot of damage, unless you have invested a perks in block.

Nope. Dual Swords because I can. ^_^ Also I think wards doesn't do that much against arrows. I see mages using them and my spells just bounce off but my arrows go through them like it was rice paper.

It isn't a bug, damage calculations are a lot more higher now compared to Oblivion. My character has 580 health points, 67% magic resistance, and is a master in light armor (280+ armor rating). I still take a lot of damage from high leveled archers, Drauger Deathlords, and Ancient Dragons, but I can still manage to kill them.

On my level 81 mage, I have trouble with no enemies (Even on master) except Draugr Deathlords with Bow and Arrows. They almost 1-hit me.

Okay then. Beware Deathlords. It was a pain when I walked into that room and three of them shot me dead at the same damned time five times in a row.
