Not a big deal, but when I was on the main quest arranging the peace conference, I had not taken a side in the civil war. When I went to the Empire, the only way I could get the dialog to invite him to the conference, I had to offer to join the legion. Of course I did NOT talk to the legate to actually start a quest, but I couldn't just invite the guy.

Has anyone had this happen? I'm a little concerned that I have glitched myself. Now I AM going to join the legion eventually, but still.

I had not completed the civil war but I had at least chosen a side at that point. I think the importance of it comes into play when dividing up the holds between the two parties.

If you don't do a couple of quests for one side (whichever one you pick) you can't complete Season Unending (which is just totally bollixed - hopefully a patch will fix it, or a modder will....)

So you aren't glitched yet.... but if you never do those couple of early "join the Imperials" quests, you will be because you can't go on with that part of the MQ questline unless/until you do.
