strange habits

And just when you think its over (whew, ive FINALLY found 50 nirnroots), it tells you to find 100 MORE! GAH!! :bonk:

You only need to get 30 crimson nirnroots in the quest in this game, and the reward is WELL worth it if your an alchemist. You get a permanent 25% chance to craft 2 potions/poisens when making them. Really helps to get them extras sometimes when using really rare and hard to find ingredients.

I tend to climb up whenever I can. It started early because I didn't where anything was, and when I got to the bottom of a cliff and the house was ta the top, I was always pissed. I started climbing to the top of every peak, and then jumping down to my destination. Now, 150+ hours in, and 331 locations found, I still do it out of habit....

That sounds like a problem that should be addressed,

Oil will never be left alone, my fire spell has only been used on oil, never an enemy,
I take all arrows, lock picks and gems and leave everything else,
I have a follower in full Daedra armor but i always make him wait outside any cave before i go in.
I have one Storage container for one type of item, ie. one for gems, one for smithing stuff etc.

I have since modified this habit. I now call it the "defy all logic and physics mountain scaling technique" Simply run sideways and you can zigzag across almost anything , ANYTHING. Also I now use quick travel to strategically place myself in areas where descending will be necessary to get to the objective. All this time I spend defying gravity etc. I grumble to myself, " Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to put a game world on top of a huge-ass mountin with mountains popping out of it......" Next TES game I'm really hoping it's set on a nice flat place devoid of mountains with mountains popping out of the mountains.

I never remove the Bond of Matrimony from my inventory once I get married. I don't always wear it but i don't ever stick it in a cupboard or anything.

Continuing my trend from Fallout 3 onwards, I try to collect at least one peice of every type of apparel in the game and leave them in my wardrobe at home.

I always try to Intimidate the thief on the road that tries to rob me, even though it never seems to work.

I also tend to scale mountains rather than looking for the logical sane path around them.

This thread is full of lols :D

Me, I'm not very smart, and tend to get lost in big dungeons. I've on several occaisions spent up to 2 hours wandering around bleak dark tunnels whimpering pitifully.
I solved this problem by retreiving the bodies of anything I'd killed and left the stripped corpses along the path I'd taken, so I never got lost because I had a trail of bodies to follow back to the exit. Kind of like a grim hansel and gretel

Well, I mostly have character specific habits haha, but I do share the 'it's much faster to climb the mountain than to take the road' habit.

My character specific ones are:
With my Khajiit I often ride down waterfalls to get where I need to go whenever possible. No idea why really, it's just something I tried for fun the first day I played it, and have carried on doing ever since.

With my assassin character, if I am detected while trying to attack someone and they turn on me, I leave and come back later. I hate not doing sneak kills with him! If I'm out in the wilderness and attacked by wolves, bandits, etc, I'll make him fight those normally, however. It's just if it is an ordinary npc who I want to assassinate.

I also always close doors before my characters go to sleep.

Beginning the list: You may find it a little bizarre in some cases. I call it "MARRETA STYLE" Kinda..

1 - I always move to the quest markers in a straight lines. I don't care about roads or mountains. If I can't climb the mountain, I walk as straight as possible, even if that means walking in the rocks.

2 - I always fus ro dah on tables full of food, plates and etc.

6 - I do always fus ro dah anything near a river or a waterfall.

7 - I hate using new weapons. I'm playing 200+ hours and still with a steel dagger and a katana, at lvl 40 (forth character)

8 - I sprint even if I'm inside my own home. I always sprint despite of why I am doing it.

9 - I STOP any --ANY-- combat for killing bunnies. It's ... it's.. impossible to let 'em alive for another day.

11 - I cast rage spell in anything that moves.

12 - I collect so many ingredients in the game that sometimes I catch myself thinking about picking some flowers or grass in real life.

13 - I jump of every cliff I can, even when the quest is up in the mountains.

14 - Inside dungeons I roll 100% of the time, for I am sneaky and hate walking. So I am always rolling.

15 - I follow random NPCs walking on the roads only to see where they're going. I've spent 24 minutes in real life following a random NPC.

16 - I muder every guard who says "Psst... I know you.. Hail sithis!"

17 - I feel shame of beeing a werewolf. I get humilliated when guards says I'm smelling like wet dog.

18 - I refuse to play as a Khajiit in Skyrim, even beeing my favourite race.

29 - I hate argonians from the bottom of my heart. I must kill 'em all.

30 - This list doesn't have 30 items.

Surely someone will answer, but I'm guessing the reddish puddles are oil-based. I haven't used any fire on them to test it, but I'm guessing these puddles will ignite - I'm gonna try fire breath on the next one I see...after I lure NPCs into it, of course. }:]

I just barely figured out the waterfall thing, after 150+ hours of play. I started doing base-jumping with Become Ethereal for a lark, and did it right outside Snapleg into the waterfalls. I turned normal before falling off the last fall, and actually twitched at the thought of dying. Nope, fun swim to shore, then fast travel to the top. Did Whirlwind off the ledge out into the pond next, and still no death after a 3 or 4 second free fall... yeah!!!

I, too, enjoy using Relenting Force on a table-ful of food/plates/tankards. I enjoy the fact that someone has to clean it up when I do it. And when I do come back later on, it is organized again, ready for me to blow it to smitharines again.

I hardly use the road.

I hate, hate, hate when the courier approaches me on my travels. It's a buzzkill to get a note/quest while I'm determined to finish a "MISC" quest - to then be side-swiped with another MISC quest.

I don't know what dragon bones & dragon scales or for, but I refuse to leave them behind.

I have weak arrows in my inventory, but I can't bring myself to remove them.

I purchased my house in Whiterun, I don't really care who lives in that spare room or who "owns" that bed, but I get frustrated when I see that room, I bought that house for me, not for someone else. In fact, I think I'm going to fill that room up with complete junk just to make them mad.

I think about killing the dude in front of the Shrine of Talos in Whiterun, he's always there and never shuts up.

I want to use a shovel and dig in skyrim :(

When Im in a room waiting for the NPCs to finish their conversation I have to jump on any tables and scatter all the stuff on them with my feet. I cant leave anything upright on the table. My Palace of Kings has an empty table (empty except for ulfrics corpse), and plates etc all over the floor. Very gratifying.

I HAVE to pick every Nirnroot I hear/see, it's just completely indoctrinated in me. Then I just sell them so it's really pointless.

I must chase and kill all foxes I see. Try to get the bunnies too but they're fast little buggers.

My blacksmith dude is always buying up all the dwarven ingots to make dwarven bows to sell. I think because they were the first thing I really started making money on.

I always activate the pickpocket menu just to see if some random NPC is carrying something amazing, even though they never are, and then take nothing and walk off.

I love being in any Jarl's quarters. Just seems so naughty.

And I CANNOT mine or loot dungeons without using my candlelight spell. It makes everything shiny and awesome.

I am just glad I got out of the habit of stealing EVERYTHING, started with stealing cutlery in Morrowind and got even worse in Oblivion, now I probably leave more loot than I take just cos I CBA walking around trying to sell it all.

I have to check every barrel and every corpse and every urn, even if I kNOW that it will most likely just contain 2 gold. I keep telling myself to just kill the draugrs, get what ever I need, and finish the dungeon! DON'T STOP TO CHECK EVERYTHING. Most of the time I don't even loot stuff, I just pick up the 2 gold or what.

BUT THEN, I come across an urn with a flawless gem and I tell myself... SEE, you should at least LOOK! I'm NOT OCD in life, but OMG I swear my Skyrim character is! LOLOL

Oh and I collect Salt piles. I have over 150 in my home, and yet, I still check barrels and collect every salt pile I find... Maybe one day I'll re-create the Dead Sea and hide some scrolls in it. *rolls eyes* lol

Speaking of collecting, I do have to pick, gather, catch every alchemical ingredient I see. However, I'm working on that impulse and I can actually now ride past a Lavender plant without getting off the horse to harvest it. LOL

I also have enchanted gear just laying around, JUST in case I need it. Sometimes I just say enough and I sell EVERYTHING that I've been carrying around for weeks, like some potions I had forever.

Potions is another thing. I always, always in every TES game carry around way too many potions. When I fight, half the time I don't even remember to take one. I only use the HP pots LOL

I will always carry around resist fire and resist frost etc. potions but no matter who I'm fighting I never can justify myself in using them thinking the opponents just aren't important enough ( even had that when fighting alduin :P) also my computer will be familiar with every ES related word.
