Stuck at Caesar, do not want to advance plot

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 4:51 pm

So the FallOut save-restriction made me reluctant to use the "real" save and I stuck to quicksaving. Thus I quicksaved before going to the Fort incase I couldn't escape without doing something I didn't want to. Then ofcourse I click quicksave instead of quickload, and now I'm stuck with either confronting Mr. House (which I don't want to do yet) or start killing Legionaires (and still risk losing alot of my stuff).
Any way around this?
And no, console doesn't work for me (no idea why).

I don't see why you have to confront House or kill Legionnaires. If you're worried about activating the robot army you can do that and Caesar won't know the difference.

My console doesn't work either. The work-around for that could be disabling (or uninstalling) any infra-red devices you may have. Work for me. Perhaps you could use that to your advantage to get out of this situation.

You've read the save restriction wrong by the way. It's 1000 seperate slots, not save only 1000 times. You'd have to work pretty damn hard to use 1000 slots.

w00t, I actually got replies O,o

I'm sorry if it's a bit hard to understand, and I feel really stupid about the save-thingy.
I'm stuck at Caesar where he has stolen my gear and he forces me to confront Mr. House if I want the Chip and my gear back and to be allowed to leave. I do not want this, just wanna go about and keep questing : (

Lie to him. You have to leave to do the confrontation.

Well this isn't the end of the game, you know. Also, you can leave at any time and you will get your weapons back.

Also, if you activate the securitrons, Caesar won't know the difference, if that is what you are worried about.

Oh. Well, I'll answer in tags since this belongs in spoilers anyway...

Spoiler
Go take the chip and activate the robots, and come back. Next, Caesar tells you what he wants done next, which is outside his camp in the Mojave Wasteland. In order for you to be able to do what he wants, he gives you your gear back and sends you on your merry way to do whatever you want.

Thanks for trying guys, but it seems I'm to [censored] to get my message across.
In order for me to do my first task for Caesar and then get my gear back, I need to confront Mr. House (which I have not done before). This means I have to pick some sort of side, and I do not want that. I also want to keep Platinum Chip, which I think is needed for the independent path I'm taking.
And no, I can not lie to Caesar, I am on the quest and he won't even open up a dialogue with me.
And no, I can't leave whenever I want, they want me to do my first task for Caesar first.

Look, I've finished the game and kind of know how things go here...

No, you are not forced to pick a side at this point. Not irrevocably, anyway- you can still lie to and work for every faction in the game for a long while yet from your current point.

Yes, you have to do Caesar's first task- after which, like I already said once, you can go about whatever business you like, with all your gear and goodies and such.

Or you can ignore people who have been there, insist that all is lost, and start over. Knock yourself out, it's your game.

stop worrying so much about the path you intended to take, sometimes the path just falls in your lap.

What I'm getting from this is you're at the point where you have to either insert the platinum chip into the console and activate the robots, or blow them all up. There are three options for you here.

1) Blow up the generators, destroying all the robots. This makes House angry with you, and you'll probably have to kill him.
2) Insert the Platinum chip and activate the robots, gaining favor with Mr. House. Caesar will still think you obeyed him, and he will never find out later so you don't have to worry about it really.
3) Insert the Platinum chip, like above, but then you can kill Mr. House later and take the robot army for yourself I believe.

I'm not sure about the last one as I've never done it before, but Benny implies it's possible to do it through the Yes Man quest.

That's pretty much the info I wanted, as it seems I am forced to continue with the quest. Cheers mate.

To add on to what Alois is trying to tell you:

Go ahead and tell Caeser you'll do as says. Do the quest to activate/destroy the robots. Mr. House won't know that you did and thus won't make you an enemy.
And then... JUST LEAVE AND DON'T DO AS CAESER TELLS YOU ANY LONGER.
