Stuck in negotiations?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 10:25 pm

I got stuck at the negotiations table in Highrothgar.
The old man, from Riften underground, spoke, and then they all got silent, looking at him, and looking at me.
I can look around, i can save/load the game.
I can't stand up from the chair. No commands work...

What can i do?

HELP!

It may be a bug associated with you not having taken any sides.
You are supposed to have a side at the negotiations.

Try reloading a save from before the negotiation and taking a side in the civil war.

o.O How does this negotiation quest come about? I've played 4 characters and never got a negotiation quest.

To answer that would be a spoiler ...

I had not taken a side during this quest and it worked fine for me. Or at least: I had not done a single quest for the stormcloaks or imperials and did nothing to harm either side.
I think that means I have taken no side :P

Question, are you playing on PC? If so, you may have had earlier that Esbern skipped all of his dialoque. This is the same problem. The game refuses to use Esbern's lines. Deleting your .ini file located in .../My Documents/My Games/Bethesda Softworks/Skyrim/ should do the trick.

Thanks all, especially "harmy52".
Esbern has never spoken on my "PC", i only waited for the dialogue to pass on...
Will try deleting the .ini ASAP.

Thank's!

EDIT:
Theres two .ini files.

"Skyrim.ini" and,
"SkyrimPrefs.ini"
I'l figure it out and post here witch one worked...

First i renamed the "SkyrimPrefs.ini" alone. Didn't work.
So i renamed both .ini files, and now Esbern talked, and the story continued...

Thank's!

----------------------

Edit:
Renamed .ini-files to .txt insted of deleting them. In case something goes wrong i could rename them .ini again. Now i can delite the .txt files. Seeming the game works, and it created new files..
