Stuck in room right before the end

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:12 am

Okay, I know this is the spoiler forum but I've seen some other people complaining so if you aren't at the end of the dlc or have beaten it look away now. Alright, I took the elevator down after Christine gets her voice back and says the password. Everything was going okay until I got to a big room with three holograms, three terminals, and a blue force field blocking the doorway out of the room. One of the terminals can shut off the alarms that trigger the explosive collar and all the terminals can move the holograms onto different routes. There are also two holographic projectors in the room that can supposedly shut down the holograms, but you need repair 100 to sabotage them. There are also catwalks beneath the ones where the holograms are walking, but that whole level is filled with the poison gas. My question is, how the hell do I get out of this room? Do I have to shut down that force field somehow or is there another way through the room? I'm so freaking close to beating this dlc (I'm pretty sure) and I just need a little help. If anyone has beaten it and knows the room I'm talking about, please let me know.

Yah, I'm stuck at the area with the 2 sheilded speakers that cant be destroyed. Getting to the terminal and turning the alarms off doesn't help, I also cant just jump the scafolding and run down the top passage because I can't get to anywhere where there isn't a signal to blow my head off. This is just stupid, I can't figure out how to get past these.

I'm pretty sure these guys are talking about the same thing we are. I'm wondering if my game is glitched now however because when I went to the terminal that shut down the alarms I don't remember seeing anything that says "shut down security doors". Either I just missed it or my dlc is bugged. Frankly that wouldn't suprise me given all the bugs this game has but hey, that's another conversation altogether lol.

I think I know what you are stuck on, if i'm not ignore this: There are two Speakers you need to destory to progress, one is above the small room you walk out of to get to the stairs, and the 2nd one is above the door you try to jump from the scafolding to. Even with this you need to be pretty quick.

Hope this helps.

I took out the two normal speakers, but there is a shielded one behind me. Does one need to jump to the doorway from the I beam? This is going to svck.

I don't remember what room it is, that may be it.. there is one part going to the vault you need to jump from a catwalk, onto a beam, and then bounce off that into a ledge for a doorway.. and then going back out you do it the other way.. the beam is small so just hop really fast..

that's what I was afraid of. I have tried it 20+ times and can't seem to make the jump (and my head explodes the long way around past the terminal on the wall). Wow - this feels like Mario Brothers - if I see a turtle I'm gone.

Well.. I could be thinking of a different spot and making it harder on you.. the room I'm thinking of it is obvious you can jump from the catwalk onto the beam, and then pop up again into the doorway.. though at the time I didn't know that was the way I needed to go just wanted to see if I really could.. it just happened to work out..

..so if you're struggling with it, you might be somewhere else trying to make an impossible jump.. because it's only two quick, fairly short, jumps and shouldn't be too hard to pull off.. your Mario Brothers reference is fitting tho.. so it could be the same.. now that you mention it, that's kind of the vibe it had..

Wow.. you're still stuck in the Suites? I'll load a save in a minute and redo that section and find the gas valve again, and then post in your other thread.. I played straight through for six hours the night it came out.. beginning to end non-stop, so I was tired at that point and some of the details from the latter Sierra Madre parts are fuzzy..

I think this is the first part of the catwalk area. I may be in the second part? Very frustrating. The Wiki doesn't give enough detail and this dlc is such a rat trap it's hard to even describe your location to other players who have finished or in the same section.

I'm not sure.. and you couldn't pay me enough to get me back in that vault again.. I just know three things..

  • I barely shot any speakers.. one or two max.. I did the run like hell technique of getting through.. but may have shut some off with a security terminal, but don't think so..
  • The first tricky part is a spot where you jump from a catwalk, onto a beam, and then onto a ledge with a doorway, but may not be required you go that route.. I just saw it and thought "hey that looks manageable.. lets try it".. and it worked and did it both ways, going in and out..
  • The second tricky part is on the way back when you're racing to get out and walking across planks spanning catwalks.. you save 10-15 seconds by dropping to the ground as soon as you're on the planks instead of running down stairs.. when you walk off the planks and fall you land directly in front of the doorway that need to go to next.. from there it's just another two ramps and a door and fairly straight forward to the elevator..

It's the one on the far right down the stairs. It only gives you the option once you turn the alarms off

Turns out you have to outrun the collar. I was trying to run to the alarm with a pistol. Can't run fast enough with a pistol, have to go open handed. Sheesh, this thing is touchy! That's why they don't give you any heavy armor. You'd be stuck there.
