Stuck in Skulfadin

I'll save everyone with PC advice some time: I'm on Xbox.

First the Nordic puzzle door wouldn't activate. So I left the cell and went all the way back to another cell. Then I went back through the door, and then went back to the puzzle door, and this time it activated. But then when I put the diamond claw in, the door wouldn't open. And yes, I definately have the right combo. I've done it twice before, have the guidebook and can see the markings quite clearly.

So then I went back to a save before I entered the temple and fought my way through it all again. The same thing happened. I tried the same fixes, fighting my way back through the temple AGAIN. Still the same thing.

My character is level 49 and I've spent an ungodly amount of hours getting him to this point. If this cannot be fixed I am absolutely done with this game forever. I'm sure Bethesda doesn't care because I've already spent the money on this bug infested game. I've defended the game against people who have been super critical of it, but this is the last straw.

If I don't find a solution to this problem with this character, the disc is getting broken in half and I'll never play another Bethesda title. Out of 4 playthroughs this will be the second character I've gotten to a high level and then was unable to finish the MQ. My last character was level sixty-f'ing-one when I discovered the MQ was bugged beyond fixing. FIFTY PERCENT FAILURE RATE WITH THE MAIN QUEST.

Of key importance: I don't have any saves that go back to before I went to Skuldafin because when I have too many saves , it takes forever and thenthe Xbox ends up randomly deleting other saves once the save count gets too high.

So that's it. If I can't get through this door, my character is forever trapped there.

I hope someone has a solution. Thanks.

Not sure, but I can relate a bit to your pain.

If you're positive that you have the proper puzzle icons, and everything else seemed right, then I guess you're screwed.
I'm on Xbox as well, but I made it a habit to save all the time. Save until you throw up, then save some more. We're allowed what, like 700 slots? Something like that. Once I get to a point where things are neutral and I don't need backup saves to un-smash my game, I delete them all except for a couple. Then it starts all over again.

Your rage isn't misplaced; I guess we're all supposed to be enchanted by a bugged game that somehow isn't being fixed and updated in a proper/timely manner. People can deny that there are broken areas and real issues here, but they're only lying to themselves.

Anyway, good luck!

I had the same problem with the door and i figured out what the problem was. Some part back i used the Wirlwind shout to jump over a gap. Then the door didn't worked. I could not turn the rings. I went back to the part where i jumped over and noticed a lever puzzle. I did the lever puzzle, whent back to the door and this time it worked.
