Stuck with Elder Scroll early on in MQ

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 4:14 am

So, I stumbled upon a dwemer ruin a while back, and fully explored it, up to the point where I found a strange contraption that required an item to use it. A little while later(a few days I'd guess), I stumbled upon Septimus Signius and he gave me the key needed to operate that contraption, and I ended up inside Blackreach. So, I fully explored Blackreach, and I managed(by pure luck) to transcribe the Lexicon(I still have no idea how I did it, I did NOT solve the puzzle, I just hit buttons randomly until the thing opened up), and I took the Elder Scroll I found. Unfortunately, as I've since learned, I have a good while to go in the MQ before I can get rid of the damnable thing, and until then, It's freaking taking 20 weight up in my inventory! Is there any way to console command the damn thing out of my inventory until I need it later? Because I'm getting very freaking annoyed at missing out on 20 carrying weight, since all I want to do right now is explore dungeons and mines, picking up loot and craftable items, and 20lbs is about 7.5% of my total carrying weight(20/310).

Quest items dont actually weigh anything even though the inventory menu says they do.

you could try ~player.removeitem 48782 1, but this may cause problems later on in the quest.

your call.

It really doesn't add anything to your weight load, as Aph says.... I highly recommend you do NOT use the console to drop it. BAD idea.

Aphaea and Serethil pretty much got this, but yeah, I agree with Serethil. It weights nothing and dropping it now then conjuring it later could cause some unnecessary problems. Just keep in your inventory and look at it every now and again when you want a free eye exam.

*giggle* or a free eye-burn, whichever!

Oh, lol, well, that works then. I figured it was actually taking up the weight, I'm glad to see that it's really not. thanks for the advice, I'll just leave it in there then ^^
