Re:AI stupidity and Combat issue.

It's been discussed before. For some, including me, the game is not that challenging. I am currently playing on adept. After I while I will up to expert and then master, for sole replayability purposes. As of right now, I am gimping my character, I do not use any enchantments other than restoration nerfs. Although I haven't upped to a higher difficulty yet, I know that they only have damage modifiers. To say that the AI is very basic is at best... generous. I mean NPCs get stuck running at me because they cannot register that the table is in their way. I'm guessing the cause of this is announcing the release of your games way before their release date. But my question is: Will Bethesda ever fix this? Maybe along with one of their DLCs they will have a patch that greatly improves the AI mechanics, etc. I mean it would take a while, but is possible/likely to happen down the road? If it isn't should I start saving to buy a decent gaming PC and have the modding community solve my issues?

Master isn't the issue here. It's the quality of the AI.

If that gets fixed, it will be a modder who does it.

Bethesda is not known for fixing a lot of things, and that goes back a long time.

This is true. Bad form for what has become, a rather large and wealthy company.

I`m on Master and the AI is really not that great.

For instance, I pop out of hiding, they see me, I pop back behind a post and they`re saying, "Where` he go?" I`m not a thief or have any hiding buffs\potions either.

I did see one slightly good example of AI once. I saw a bandit in a cave, I ran after him and he ran down a corridor and turned a lever that bought down these swinging scythes. H e then prodeeded to fire arrows at me from behind it, which I thought was good.

But I don`t see that often.

I agree with eagle, modders will have to fix it, as theyve done every other game by Bethesda.

My primary complaint is the pathing AI for followers. Just attrocious.

I finally gave up leading my follower around, trying to find a place where she wouldn't get stuck.

Indeed, AI does not change at Master level. All the increased difficulty does is up hitpoints and increase damage table of mobs...

It is bad but no need to stop and wait for them. They eventually find their way to you.

Well i`ve noticed that your Follower will nearly always get back to you eventually. If they get stuck I just leave them and run on and eventually they always catch up. They do a teleport that is hidden from your view.

lol, thesting beat me to it!
