Stutter every 4 seconds.

Hi,

For a while my Skyrim has started to stutter regularly every 4 seconds.

I cant work out what was doing it, but i did notice a possibly coincidental correlation with my network monitor.

Every 4 seconds or so I am noticing a little pip of upload traffic on my network monitor, its very small but regular all day long.

I got Microsoft's network monitor software and the blip is showing up as: SSDP:Request, M-Search *

Does anyone know what this is or if it could be responsible for my Skyrim stuttering?

All other games and applications are working perfectly.

Any help would be appreciated.

My specs in case relevent:

Windows 7 64-bit SP1
Intel core I5 2200K
Geforce GTX 560 Ti
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 250GB 3.5" SATA III 6GB/s
4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 686MHz
Realtek High Definition Audio
ASUS P8H61-M LE/USB3 (LGA1155)

Sounds like a background task interfering with the game. Try doing a "clean boot" procedure and re-test the game, if it no longer stutters then its definately a program you normally have running thats causing the problem.

Tried a clean boot, but it still does the same thing. The framerate is perfect otherwise, but every 4 seconds or so it pauses for a fraction of a second. It would be strange if it was a coincidence with the "SSDP:Request, M-Search *" thing.

But I dont know what "SSDP:Request, M-Search *" means or signifies, or how it could relate to skyrim.

As far as I can tell from that, it means your have something connected to the computer making the request. What that is I dont know, but if you have any devices attached to the system try removing them.
