Styles of play to increase immersion, horse use, 3D gaming,

Hello everyone. I have a really fun game room which I use to play skyrim on a projector screen with Nidia 3D vision for an AWESOME skyrim journey. For anyone looking to COMPLETELY IMMERSE themselves in a game world.... the 3D really pulls you into this world. It looks like my wall is a windows into a mystical world.... Can't even play a game like this without 3D now. Only sharing because I've loved the experience so much that I want to share it.

With immersion in mind, I have a few questions for everyone to help my experience. Also, keep in mind I personally have alot of fun not allowing fast travel.

1 - since I don't fast travel, and walking can be a bit slow, I like using my horse. It can be frustrating how many times I have to dismount for wolves etc.... Should I just keep running from an npcs on horse? I'm worried that then it will feel like I am always running from place to place with 5 npcs chasing.... What would be a good approach?

2 - I like to take many quests and complete them as I travel and come across the towns and locations I need to visit but without fast travel it can be hard to remember all of the quests under miscellaneous and their appropriate locations. Any ideas here for me since I don't fast travel?

3 - No major spoilers please, but are there more npcs random encounters than just dragons? Are there random dragons AND "stationary " ones?

4 - Please use this part to share any ideas you have that make the game more fun and immersive. What do you think or do that would be a fun way for the rest of us to try???

Thanks and happy travels!

Yeah, this game looks really good in 3D. As for general immersion tips:

1. Stick to roads when traveling from one point to another if you can. Once you've cleared a route, it takes a very long time for it to respawn. It is kind of annoying though on your first trip somewhere.

2. I activate every quest I get (and plan on completing) so all I have to do is open my map to see what's nearby. It does mean the clairvoyance spell won't work though, I'm pretty sure.

3. There are a few. Bandits robbing you, suicidal orcs, Maiq the Liar, etc. Probably not as good as Fallout's random encounters though.

4. Since you're on PC, you can speed up your horse. Either look for a mod on the Nexus, or do it via console:

Select your horse, then type:

modav speedmult 50

That will boost their runspeed by 50% (use 100 for 100%, etc. but keep in mind moving fast can be hard on your system so there's a definite limit.)

Also, I don't know what you're using to fix the clouds and water, but http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4350 for it is pretty good. Last I checked it was the only one that also fixed the moons and water. The antifreeze thing it requires also helps with performance and solved some CTD issues I was having in some areas.

Just make sure you have the one you want to do first as the only one selected in your questlog and it works fine. :)

I hate 3D.

1. Disable the compass or you can disable the HUD.

I'd like to recommend http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3222 (short for Immersive HUD) if you decide to go that route. You can set what you want to show up and when you want it to do so. :)
