Suggestion For Future Beta Tests

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:37 pm

I think it would be a good idea if Beth added something to our forum profiles that would allow us to indicate the current games we play, e.g., Skyrim, and the platform(s) we play the game(s) on and whether we'd be interested in being a Beta tester should the opportunity arise.

Beth could use this to send private beta test invitations to people who have evinced an interest in helping in a beta test and have been active community members.

In my view, this would be preferable to the public invitation for the 360 beta test, If only because it would reduce or eliminate a recurrence of the plague of beta test related threads on this forum since the 360 beta test announcement ... and the "unpleasant" threads that I'd be willing to bet we'll see when some forum members realize they aren't getting an invitation.

i think it was more of a marketing strategy to release the public beta test. Helps push Bethesda's products out to more consumers and increases the number of active users on their forums

*Nods*

Love to test beta things myself having done several MMO game beta tests both private and public. One thing you learn right off the bat is the NDA and the inner workings of it extensively. *shivers* Surprised I don't have nightmares of lawyers with briefcases assaulting me and beating me with 50 page documents of the NDA. :P

There might not be another public beta like this again. Hopefully it works well and we get more opportunities like this.

I see the beta testers will have a high level of competence. Most of them probably see the beta as a free entrance to Dawnguard; not aware that they are encouraged to report bugs and errors.

I think it would have been nice if Bethesda gave some of the more trusted members around here the opportunity to test the Dawnguard beta.

Good, lets hope that people don't ruin it for everyone who wants to help out.
