I am doing the quest where you need to find 50 of the special bottle caps, and many people have said that drinking some may give a small chance of giving you one. I have literally drunk over 25, and have not got one of them. Is there something I am missing, becuase I have 6 luck, and other people with the same luck seem to have gotten as many as 6, when they have consumed roughly the same amount.

And just another question, does the wiki have a complete list of where you can definatley find them?

Wiki list, yes. Also, I got like 2 of those caps while consuming those Sarsaparillas.

I have just a 5 in Luck and I average just about 1 in 25 or 30 ... sometimes better, sometimes worse. I just drink every one of the dang things I find. I'm sure my character must hate the stuff by now.

I drank 100 at a time and got 22.

Seeing as there's 100 in the game.. finding 50 shouldn't be too difficult. I found 51 before I "finished" the quest.

■Every time you drink a bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla, there is a 5% chance the bottle cap you receive from it will be a star bottle cap. This percentage is unaffected by the player's Luck.

6 luck, I got 9 from drinking a 100. Roughly 1 in 10 for me.

10 luck, sometimes i would go through 25 and get 1, sometimes i would go through 15 and get 3-5.

random is random, i would guess.

With 7 luck, I got 8 of them from drinking 40 sarsaparilla.

I had found 43 by just randomly exploring during 60+ hours of gameplay.

Random loot is random.

Thanks guys, just played for an hour and a half. It seems that in a secondary location that doesn't really have much of a purpose, like a prospector camp, it'll have one/

A guy ran up to mr outside of the town down the road from prim with the ceasar's legion guys. He claimed to have a lucky necklace made out of the things...not so lucky as it turns out. Got 7 star caps off his corpse.

You don't need to guzzle a load of sarsaparilla drinks to get them, they're literally everywhere... you only need 50 but there is like a million in game (gross exaggeration), definitely way more than 50 though.
