Bethesda said they're not doing anything relating mods and the consoles. Sony and Microsoft don't allow it.

Don't remind me.

Most likely PC exclusive or DLC news.

Aren't all mods technically "homemade?"

All mods (in the sense you're using the term) are home-made. Content for community by the community... Sorry, I meant PC players.

DLC is the only solution, and the idea of Bethesda including anything that isn't in their "artistic direction" is a little far out there.

A comprehensive (damn near stand-alone) story-based DLC is great, but half the time Bethesda includes absolutely no decent material content. I'd like to see more Community Mod based content DLCs. The armors and weapons made by the community are impressive, but it'd be nice if we could all experience a bit of it.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!! This will never happen. It's going to be HD textures for PC only. This has already been more or less proven in other threads.

I guess it would be kind of like a dlc disc. i thought maybe after a couple weeks or something Bethesda would look at the most popular mods and make them available through xbox live/psn. and on disc in stores.

But what if Bethesda made them themselves?

But what if Bethesda made them themselves?

First topic: Bethesda has never done this before. Bethesda will never do this. The development team either doesn't care enough to look at what the COMMUNITY wants, or they don't want the mods to overshadow their work. (I lean towards a combination of both, and sorry Bethesda, you guys just aren't that good at designing anything other than a large environment with a little bit of stuff going on in each map cell.)

Second topic: Well, they wouldn't be user modifications then, would they? Not to mention upwards of 90% of the user created content (levels, quests, items) tend to have a higher level of quality. We're sitting here having this discussion because we all feel like the game is missing something, be it in-game balance, in-game content or equality amongst platforms.

It was found in the Steam content registry. Take a look, if you want.
