system switching

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 6:53 am

I've been really wanting to switch from a console to pc lately, but I'm unsure on what should be priority upgrades for my pc. My pc is outdated, but I can't afford a completely new one so I was thinking of buying parts when I have spare cash. I'm not looking for high end stuff, but parts that could at least run the game well.

So what do you guys believe I should buy first and where would the best places to get the parts?

By the time you add up all the hardware, you're gonna be better off just buying a new rig.

Good time of year to buy, lots of deals and peer reviews.

I ain't gonna advocate any site over another, but you definitely need a bigger hard drive... and I'm not sure if that memory is space or RAM?

My laptop from 93 runs windows 95 and has more memory, time to upgrade bro :P

I was just planning on buying certain parts over time, but do you guys think that'll be too expensive?

If I do have to buy a new computer, what should I look for in it?

If you're in Europe I can only recommend Scan.co.uk- best place for anything PC.
If you're in the states, it HAS to be NewEgg.com.

The two things you'll need most for gaming are the processor and the graphics card. I would suggest picking up a GTX 560 if you have the money. It's not the highest end card, but easily the best of the budget cards from what I've heard. Processors might be more difficult to track down, but I'd recommend going for an iX series (i5 might be best) since they're also pretty affordable.
