Description:
===============

Two modder's ongoing quest for every misc item to have it's own icon.

===============
Details:
===============

THEY STILL USE THAT GENERIC ICON. We've made this mod because it irritates
us that a lot of the different misc catagory icons use the same generic junk
icon. We think you'll really enjoy this, hopefully as much as we enjoyed
making it.

This mod is provided henceforth as a resource, you may package the icons
with your mod if you modify the original item or you make an item that
could use the icon (example being if you made a wrench weapon and wanted
to use my wrench icon.)

All I ask is that you notify us and give us credit. That's all we ask.

But that by no means signifies the end of development of this mod, it'll
go as long as we do.

That was fast. I noticed the generic icon almost right away...probably because I just "finished" replaying FO3 with Misc Item Icons (among other mods of course) the day before.

Thanks x 2. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I was playing FO3 with this mod, and on starting New Vegas it was one of the first things I noticed. Thanks for doing this mod. Sometimes, the little things make a big difference.

Thanks! This was bugging me too. I was just wondering if it would be possible to add a sort of "cheat sheet" to the image for consumables and junk items that are used when crafting - a list of which recipes use the item and how many of the item the recipe requires would be awesome. Any chance of something like that happening with this mod, or are you just focusing (understandably) on the graphical side of things?

Interesting idea about the "cheat sheet" thing, I'd have to think about that.

And when my brother played for the first time after I installed the mod, he was all like "DUDE BETHESDA STOLE YOUR ICONS." It was funny as hell.

I hope you continued it by telling him "Son of a... so they did!" and going on from there.

Back to the topic, excellent work with the misc item icons. They give that special attention to clutter, and it's nice to see it on New Vegas. Keep it up. :)

PLANS:

I think the next version I will largely focus on recipe items that need icons, that weren't covered in the port.

A list of all these craftable things and what they need would help...

I can go down the list in the Prima guide tonight -- but off the top of my head, it should really only impact new items that were added to NV, yes? (Since you pretty much got everything in FO3 already)

Only items I can think of that were added and used as craftable materials (other than the plant parts that have icons already - at least I think they all do):

egg timer
duct tape
spare electronics

Gah, totally forgot to follow up on this. Sorry about that - I'm in the habit of only checking the forums when I'm at work (the forums are my "mental break"), and keep forgetting when I'm at home and playing more of the game...

...that list only meets one of the two useful criteria here though. The issue is a list of items that are used in crafting that do not already have an icon other than the generic "I have no icon" icon...

Don't have the game running so I can't look at what needs an icon yet. So I only list what was used for crafting (other then ammo recipes). I'll bold the items using a generic icon in a bit.

Well, it's a start, for sure.

Duct Tape, Egg Timer, and Casings are at the top of my list.

Great mod. Have been using it since day 1. Have you considered expanding the scope of this mod to provide a more unified look for all pipboy icons in the game? A lot of the older perks, weapons and armours from FO3 have a much heavier line than the new icons from New Vegas. It's been bugging me for quite some time, and theoretically it should be possible to adjust the line width with a simple adjustment layer. I'd probably look into doing it myself if I didn't spend all my time either going out with friends, working, playing NV, or procrastinating on releasing the next version of my crosshair mod.
