Tablet advice

Over the last few months I've been casually browsing the tablet PC market with the intention of buying something at Christmas if I found something I liked. I don't want to go ahead and buy something that will either be out dated or will drop massively in price when the next range of newer tablets hits.

I'm just looking for something that:

I can watch video on (Ideally something that has support for the common formats without having to convert everything)
Has a nice inbuilt E-mail client or downloadable alternative
Has a decent battery life
Can browse the web quickly
Has a nice UI and responsive touchscreen

I think that's everything...

In terms of budget I'm quite flexible really, looking at around £300 though if it's possible to stick around that.

So far I've looked at the Galaxy tab, Motorola Xoom <-- This was looking the best for the price so far, and of course the iPad, just because it's pretty.

I know there are plenty of people on here who are knowledgeable in the tablet scene, would really appreciate some advice/input.

Cheers
